HDMI Signal Generator Product Overview ( Model Number: TESTER-H01 ) Dear customer Thank you for purchasing this product. For optimum performance and safety, please read these instructions carefully before connecting, operating or adjusting this product. Please keep this manual for future reference. Features 32 preset patterns. 16 preset resolutions, 7 user-defined resolutions and 1 auto resolution. Support change audio sample frequency and audio sample data resolution. Support change output signal type (HDMI/DVI). Support change output signal HDCP function. Support change output signal color space and deep color. An EEPROM that saves the last setting. Operation Summarization 1. Installation and Connection a. Installation Please make sure the device is fixed in a steady and right place. Connect the 12V DC power adapter (wall transformer) to the 12V DC socket and connect the transformer to the mains electricity. b. Connection Connect HDMI OUT connector of the device rear panel to a HDMI acceptor, for example, a flat panel LCD display or a projector or plasma screen. Page 3

Otherwise the device may do not output signal. If USB is unconnected from the device, USB is connected again to device after computer taskbar USB mark is absent. c. Some monitors do not support the resolutions in table2-3, for example, for 1080i*60, the monitor, only supporting DVI signal, may has abnormal signal. If you want to save 24th resolution, please save it in the user-defined resolution. Output high resolution, the device is very hot. Please set low resolution when you leave the device unused. 2 Select Pattern Press FN button to make FN indicator light. Then press COLOR DEPTH/PATTERN button to enter into changing pattern state. Press + or button to select required pattern ( See table 2-4). 3 Select Color Space Press FN button to make FN indicator light. Then press SAMPLE RATE/COLOR SPACE button to enter into changing color space state. Press + or button to select required color space ( See table 2-1). Set color space as RGB if monitor only supports DVI signal. Set color space as auto mode if monitor supports HDMI signal. 4 Select Output Signal Type Press FN button to make FN indicator light. Then press BPS/HDMI/DVI button to enter into changing output signal type state. Press + or button to select required signal type ( See table 2-1). For monitor only supporting DVI, if the device outputs HDMI signal, monitor may be mute. 5 Select Output Signal HDCP Function Press FN button to make FN indicator went out. Then press HDCP/TIMING button to enter into changing Output signal Encryption and Decryption state. Press + or button to select required type ( See table 2-1). If monitor do not support HDCP function, the HDMI TESTER should set output decryption signal. Page 7

Press + or button to select required type ( See table 2-1). Some monitors do not support high DEEP COLOR, and we advise to use auto mode. 7 Select audio sample frequency Press FN button to make FN indicator went out. Then press SAMPLE RATE/COLOR SPACE button to enter into changing HDMI Output signal audio sample frequency state. Press + or button to select required frequency ( See table2-1). Some monitors do not support high audio sample frequency, and we advise to use auto mode. 8 Select audio sample data resolution Press FN button to make FN indicator went out. Then press BPS/HDMI/DVI button to enter into changing HDMI Output signal audio sample data resolution state. Press + or button to select required type ( See table 2-1). Some monitors do not support high audio sample data resolution, and we advise to use auto mode. d. Example Example 1 : Device front panel initial light state: FN indicator is light, HDCP/TIMING indicator is light, 7-segment LED shows 3.Now set resolution as 1280*1024@60, operation steps as following. Step: Press FN button to make indicator light. Press HDCP/TIMING button to make HDCP/TIMING indicator light. Press + or - button to select the required resolution number. Page 9

7-segment LED shows the selected number 9(9 indicates 1280*1024@60). Example 2 : Device front panel initial light state: FN indicator is light, HDCP/TIMING indicator is light, 7-segment LED shows 3.Now set audio sample frequency to 48KHZ, operation ways as following. Step: Press FN button to make indicator went out. Press SAMPLE RATE/COLOR SPACE button to make SAMPLE RATE/COLOR SPACE indicator light. Press + or - button to select the required audio sample frequency number. Seven-segment display shows the selected number 2 (2 indicates audio sample frequency is 48KHZ). Example 3:Device front panel initial light state: FN indicator is went out, BPS/HDMI/DVI indicator is light, 7-segment LED shows 16.Now set output signal type to HDMI signal and operation ways as following. Step: Press FN button to make FN indicator is light. Press BPS/HDMI/DVI button to make BPS/HDMI/DVI indicator is light. Press + or - button to select the required output signal type. Seven-segment display shows the selected number H (H indicates output is HDMI signal). When device current state is HDMI signal with Deep Color 36bit and YUV,firstly chang HDMI signal into DVI signal, then chang DVI signal into HDMI signal, now the device state is HDMI signal with Deep Color 24bit and RGB. Maintenance Clean this unit with a soft, dry cloth. Never use alcohol, paint thinner or benzine to clean this unit. Product Service Provided Service 1) Damage Requiring service: The unit should be serviced by qualified service personnel if: The DC power supply cord or AC adaptor has been damaged; Objects or liquids have gotten into the unit; The unit has been exposed to rain; The unit does not operate normally or exhibits a marked change in performance; The unit has been dropped or the cabinet damaged. 2) Servicing Personnel: Do not attempt to service the unit beyond that described in these operating instructions. Refer all other servicing to authorized servicing personnel. 3) Replacement parts: When parts need replacing ensure the servicer uses parts specified by the manufacturer or parts that have the same characteristics as the original parts. Unauthorized substitutes may result in fire, electric shock, or other hazards. 4) Safety check: After repairs or service, ask the servicer to perform safety checks to confirm that the unit is in proper working condition. Mail-In Service When shipping the unit, carefully pack and send it prepaid, adequately insured and preferably in the original carton. Include a letter detailing the complaint and provide a daytime phone and/or email address where you can be reached. Page 13

If repair is needed during the limited warranty period the purchaser will be required to furnish a sales receipt/proof of purchase indicating date of purchase, amount paid and place of purchase. Customer will be charged for the repair of any unit received without such proof of purchase. Warranty If your product does not work properly because of a defect in materials or workmanship, we (referred to as the warrantor ) will, for the length of the period indicated as below, (Parts (1) Year, Labor(90) Days)which starts with the date of original purchase ( Limited Warranty period ), at its option either (a) repair your product with new or refurbished parts, or (b) replace it with a new or a refurbished product. The decision to repair or replace will be made by the warrantor. During the Labor Limited Warranty period there will be no charge for labor. During the Parts warranty period, there will be no charge for parts. You must mail-in your product during the warranty period. This Limited Warranty is extended only to the original purchaser and only covers product purchased as new. A purchase receipt or other proof of original purchase date is required for Limited Warranty service. Warranty Limits And Exclusions 1) This Limited Warranty ONLY COVERS failures due to defects in materials or workmanship, and DOES NOT COVER normal wear and tear or cosmetic damage. The Limited Warranty ALSO DOES NOT COVER damages which occurred in shipment, or failures which are caused by products not supplied by the warrantor, or failures which result from accidents, misuse, abuse, neglect, mishandling, misapplication, alteration, faulty installation, set-up adjustments, misadjustment of consumer controls, improper maintenance, power line surge, lightning damage, modification, or service by anyone other than a Factory Service Center or other Authorized Service, or damage that is attributable to acts of God. 2) There are no express warranties except as listed under limited warranty coverage. The warrantor is not liable for incidental or consequential damages resulting from the use of this product, or arising out of any breach of this warranty. (As examples, this excludes damages for lost time, cost of having someone remove or re-install an installed unit if applicable, travel to and from the service location, loss of or damage to media or images, data or other recorded content. The items listed are not exclusive, but are for illustration only.) 3) Parts and service, which are not covered by this limited warranty, are your responsibility. Page 15
