0.1 LETTER FROM THE PRESIDENT Drees Homes has established a reputation for quality and leadership in the home building industry. Our Standards Manual is intended to unify and strengthen the Drees identity. Corporate identity standards help convey instant recognition through the use of certain colors, images, and words. The standards presented here were created to protect and maintain our image. Also, the increasing importance of digital media, such as social networks, has changed the way we engage with consumers and consumers engage with us. Drees must carefully manage our communication and identity, both at division and corporate levels. Compliance with our standards is required. 1.1 BRANDING STANDARDS Corporate Logo The logo is the key element in Drees Homes identity and must be used consistently and correctly in order to perform effectively in that function. It is comprised of two elements: the words Drees Homes and a small, square icon to the lower left. They are intended to be used jointly, without alteration to the size, proportion or position of their relationship. This is the only acceptable use of the Drees corporate logo. The logo should always be surrounded with sufficient space so it creates its own environment, maximizing visual recognition. The minimum margin surrounding the logo should equal the height of the word Homes. No graphic or typographical element should ever intrude upon this space. 1.2 BRANDING STANDARDS Corporate Icon We understand the importance of keeping our identity familiar and recognizable to reflect our heritage and our reputation as a trusted builder. In addition, we want to convey the forward thinking that we bring to the industry. The logo does just this. The letterforms are an evolution from the previous mark. They combine authority with approachability. The addition of an icon and a second color represents our dedication to building better communities and the innovation we bring to our product. 1.3 BRANDING STANDARDS Regional Logos Regional logos were developed to reflect the nuances of the Drees Homes identity across the different markets in which Drees operates. As with the corporate logo, the regional logos should always be surrounded with sufficient space. The minimum margin surrounding the logos should equal the height of the word Homes or Custom Homes. The two colors used in the identity system are Drees Dark Green and Drees Light Green. For print ads, outdoor boards and promotional materials, large areas of these colors can be used to draw attention. 1.11 BRANDING STANDARDS Primary Typeface The appropriate use of typography has a significant effect upon the overall Drees Homes identity. A suite of three typographic families complements the Drees logo. Consistency in its use will reinforce visual recognition and provide clear and effective communication. Because of its clarity and versatility, the Optima LT Std family has been selected as the primary typeface to be used throughout the Drees identity. This typeface is used on all signage and letterhead applications. It may be used for headlines and text in promotional and advertising applications. 1.14 BRANDING STANDARDS Equal Housing Opportunity Logo The Equal Housing Opportunity logo must be used in all Drees branded advertising. According to HUD guidelines, all advertising of residential real estate for sale or rent should contain an equal housing opportunity logo as a means of educating the home-seeking public that the property is available to all persons, regardless of race, color, religion, sex, handicap, familial status, or national origin. 1.15 BRANDING STANDARDS 90th Anniversary Logo The preferred logo usage for the 90th Anniversary is the logo lockup. The logo lockup shows the Drees logo and 90th Anniversary logo together in the correct proportions. There may be instances when the logo lockup won t work for an application. In those cases, the 90th Anniversary logo can be used separately from the Drees logo. 3.1 SIGNAGE STANDARDS Introduction Welcome to the Drees Standards Manual - Signage Standards Guide. The signs herein represent the standard sign program that you are expected to follow. All of the files needed for the production of these signs are available for download at: dreeshomes.com/marketing-standards This guide cannot possibly cover every sign needed from division to division. Therefore if you require special signage, the Marketing Department will be happy to assist you with the design. Please contact your division s Marketing Coordinator with any requests. 3.2 SIGNAGE STANDARDS Signage Specifications Exterior and interior signage has been designed to ensure maximum visibility of the Drees Homes logo, creating a permanent means for public recognition. Sign scale should be appropriate to the environment and be governed by the distance from which it will be seen, subject to local zoning regulations. Though sign size may vary depending on the need, the proportion and placement of the logo within the field may not vary. X= The minimum margin surrounding the logo should equal the height of the word Homes or Custom Homes. No graphic or typographical element should ever intrude upon this space. Sight lines, style of architecture, terrain, desired communication and local building codes must be considered when determining sign type. 3.3 SIGNAGE STANDARDS Division Office Signage The logo is the key element in Drees Homes identity and must be used consistently and correctly in order to perform effectively in that function. It is comprised of two elements: the words Drees Homes and a small, square icon to the lower left. They are intended to be used jointly, without alteration to the size, proportion or position of their relationship. This is the only acceptable use of the Drees corporate logo. The logo should always be surrounded with sufficient space so it creates its own environment, maximizing visual recognition. The minimum margin surrounding the logo should equal the height of the word Homes. No graphic or typographical element should ever intrude upon this space.
