Addie Williams Tell-Tale Heart Newspaper Project Students create a newspaper based on the events in the short story. A fun and creative way to work through the story!

The Town s Tales January 25th, 1834 What Do I Need To Do? You are a newspaper reporter who has been following the recent events in your town. You ve decided to do a newspaper feature on the recent murder of an old man, who was a tenant in a local rooming house. Your newspaper MUST have the following: A title banner with the creative name of your paper, the date, the price etc. A main article that s at least 250-300 words long, with well organized paragraphs An advertisement with prices and items appropriate to the time period. (Ex. There were no mp3 players back then ) At least one small related article to fill in empty spaces. A picture with a caption. (Can be hand-drawn or from the internet) Use language appropriate to the time period and try to reflect the tone and mood of the story. Be creative, add pages and articles to enhance your work Look at a modern day newspaper for formatting ideas 2 cents The accused murderer claims his tenant had an evil eye. Police are still investigating the incident. More photos and details inside! Helpful Hints Remember, newspapers are written in 3rd Person - please don t use I or me except when directly quoting someone Newspapers answer the questions who, what, where, when and why?? Remember, your task is to report on the facts, however you can add extra details not covered in the book to enhance your work.
