I agree and accept that SIU and its affiliates (Marion, Il VAMC) are not responsible for the loss, theft, or damage of artwork during the transit, display, installation and de-instillation process. SIU and affiliates (Marion, IL VAMC) reserve the right to photograph entries for use of publicity and/or educational purposes. ELIGIBILITY Submissions are free Any Veteran or present and former U.S. military or relative of. DO NOT have to be enrolled at SIU. Must be 18 years or older as of September, 201, first day of the Exhibition. All artworks must be original and must have been produced by the artist or relative/family member of a Veteran. DEADLINES If you intend to enter artwork in exhibition you must fill out the Entry Form and return before September, 201 deadline. There is no limit of how many entries but please keep it rational. NO entry forms will be accepted after September, 201. NO delivery of artwork to the Surplus Gallery prior to Sept., 201 Art being mailed needs to be delivered before Sept., 2018. All mailed pieces will be mailed to il in, Marion, Ill VAMC Main, Marion, Il a n ion o a l o ra ar or All artworks must be at the Surplus Gallery, located in the Studio Arts Bldg., 432 S. Washington St., Carbondale, IL 62901 on September -, 201 by 10am with entry form o. This also applies to shipped artwork. FRAMING AND PRESENTATION All artwork that resides on walls must be gallery ready (i.e. matted and/or framed) and be ready to hang. Artwork that does not meet these requirements will not be included in the exhibition, SIU and i Marion, Il VAMC assume no responsibility for damage due to improper preparation. Pedestals will be provided while supplies last. The use of materials from protected species must comply with all current laws and regulations of state and federal agencies. SALES The Surplus Gallery and curators take no part in any sales or transactions. The negotiation, sale and transaction of artwork/s are conducted between the artist/owner and buyer. All works of art must remain on exhibit until the end of the Veterans Art Show. PHOTO RIGHTS SIU and its affiliates (Marion VAMC) reserve the right to photograph for the use of promotional and documentation purposes all work submitted for this exhibit. DROP OFF AND RETURN Accepted artworks must be dropped off at the Surplus Gallery, located in the Studio Arts Bldg., 432 S. Washington St., Carbondale, IL 62901 no later than 10 A.M., September, 201. Shipped artworks must be received by September 3, 201. Information regarding where to ship artwork/s is located below. The Veterans Art Show closes on September 1 th, 201 at 9 pm. Artwork should be picked up no later than September 1, 201 by 12pm at the Surplus Gallery. A written authorization with any formal and active government I.D. must be presented by anyone other than the artist when dropping off and picking up artworks. Artists may be asked to present I.D. when picking up their work as well. SIU and the Surplus Gallery do not have a budget for the shipping, (i.e. delivery or return) of artworks. Artists accepted for exhibition must be willing to deliver and pick up artwork at their own cost. Artists that are not within driving distance must be willing to ship artwork/s to and from the gallery at their own cost. Shipped artworks must be accompanied/include a prepaid return-shipping label. SIU and its affiliates are not responsible for the return of shipped works that do not have a prepaid return label and address. If you are unable to retrieve artwork/s on time, please contact the curators (Samuel Hoekstra) at 618- to make arrangements prior to the closing reception of the exhibition. By signing the Entry Form the artist and or the owner of artwork/s also acknowledges and agrees to pay for all shipping for artwork that requires delivery to and from show.
