TROUBLESHOOTING SOLUTIONS Problem: My television is on, but I can t change the channel with my remote control? Solution 1: Make sure that the batteries in your remote control are still working. Replace the batteries with two (2) new AA batteries. Solution 2: Make sure you are in set-top-box (STB) mode by pushing the STB button at the top of your remote and that your television is on the correct input, which could be one of the following: HDMI, Component, Composite, Video or Channel 3, depending on the type of TV you have. Newer TV s usually use HDMI, Component, Composite or Video inputs. TV s older than five years will most likely use Channel 3. Changing inputs: On your remote, press the TV button located on the top left, and then press the input button located on the bottom left. (Or change the input by using your original remote that came with your TV.) Solution 3: Your STB could be off. If your STB is off, a gray box will appear with a message. Press OK to turn on the STB. Make sure you are aiming the remote control directly at your STB and that you are within 15 feet of the box. An Amino 130/140 STB (smaller box) will have a solid red light on the front of the box when it is on. No light will appear when the box is off. If the box has a blinking red light, a download is occurring. You will not get a picture until the download is complete. An Amino 530 STB (larger box) will have a solid green light on the front of the box when it is on. A red light will appear when the box is recording. If the box has a blinking blue light, a download is occurring. You will not get a picture until the download is complete. An Amino 540 STB (larger box) will have a solid green light on the front left of the box when it is on. If the left light is red, the STB is in standby. A middle green light indicates the STB is playing a recording. A right red light indicates that recordings are in progress. Page 21

Problem: My TV picture is frozen. What should I do? Solution 1: If you have another TV, you can check if that particular channel or all channels are experiencing the same issues. If the problem is occurring on all of your TV s, it could be a particular channel s network having issues or TrioTel could be experiencing trouble. Please call the TrioTel business office at 425-2238 or dial 611 with your landline telephone. Solution 2: If the TV picture is frozen on just one TV, it could be a STB issue. Unplug your STB for 30 seconds and then plug it back in. It will take a couple of minutes for your STB to re-load. If after your STB has re-loaded, and the problem continues, please call the TrioTel business office at 425-2238 or dial 611 with your landline telephone. Problem: I m getting a message that says one of my channels is unavailable. What should I do? Solution 1: If you have another TV, you can check if that particular channel or all channels are experiencing the same problem. If the problem is occurring on all of your TV s, a particular channel may be experiencing a network issue or TrioTel may be having equipment trouble. Please call the TrioTel business office at 425-2238 or dial 611 with your landline telephone. Solution 2: If just one TV displays the unavailable message then it could be a STB issue. Unplug your STB for 30 seconds and then plug it back in. It will take a couple of minutes for your STB to re-load. If after your STB has re-loaded, and the problem continues please call the TrioTel business office at 425-2238 or dial 611 with your landline telephone. Problem: I m stuck in the program guide. How do I get out? Solution: Hit the exit button located in the middle of the remote on the right side. Problem: The remote control does not run other home entertainment devices or commands are not performing properly? Solution: Your universal remote control can be programmed to run other home entertainment devices. Go to www.triotel.net/services/triovision and click on the Subscriber Guide link titled, How to Program Your Backlight Remote With TV Codes to search for your device code. Codes will vary depending on device brand. Double check with your device instruction manual that it can be operated with an infrared remote control. Page 22

Problem: The TV/VCR/DVD Combo does not respond properly. Solution: Each VCR/DVD brand has a set of unique codes for programming with a universal remote. Some combo units may require both a TV code and a VCR/DVD code for full operation. (Go to www.triotel.net/services/triovision and click on the Subscriber Guide link titled, How to Program Your Backlight Remote With TV Codes to search for your device code.) Problem: How do I clear out a device key? Solution: Clearing out the device key by completing the following: A. Press and hold SETUP until device key blinks twice. B. Enter 9 9 2. C. Press and release the device key to be cleared twice. Problem: My remote control does not turn on a Sony or Sharp TV/VCR Combo. Solution: For power on, these products require programming TV codes on the remote control. For Sony, use TV code 0000 and VCR code 0032. For Sharp, use TV code 0093 and VCR code 0048. What should I do if I m still having problems after following the above solutions? Simply call the TrioTel business office at 239-4302 or dial 611 with your landline telephone, and we will help you resolve the issue. To report a trouble after hours, call our business office and press 3 for Internet problems, 4 for TV problems, and 5 for telephone problems. Leave your name, telephone number, and a detailed description of the problem. A TrioTel representative will be in touch shortly. Page 23
