HISTORY The manufacturing of wind instruments in the musical region Kraslice-Klingenthal- Markneukirchen (often reffered to as the 'Musikwinkel') has been famous around the world and its roots date back into the 17th century. Hand craftsmanship has been a strong foundation of this splendid and unique tradition over the last centuries, but disappeared in its original form from the large facilities in course of the industrialization during the second half of the 20th century and consequently contracted back to the master workshops still having there strong anchors. One of those places has been our RZ master workshop, established in Kraslice located in the western part of Bohemia in the year of 2000. From the very beginning, the services offered have focused primarily on repairs of woodwind instruments specializing in repairs of oboes and clarinets. After several years, the high quality level of the carried out work contributed to entering into cooperation with renowned german makers engaged in manufacturing of woodwind instruments, which has been further expanded representing today a strong partnership based on the values of highquality carried out work and honest business relationship. Thanks to this alliance and continuously not decreasing level of repairs working, the opportunities of our master workshop became broader in a way to start thinking of our own manufacturing. The workshop has regularly been visited by the world-renowned czech solo clarinetist Milan Rericha, which adopted the idea of a czech professional instrument very quickly and offered his assistance with the developing work. Based on this new partnership emerged, a concentrated work began on the preparation of a new Boehm Clarinet concept. Upon arranging of reliable deliveries of high quality wood and after a developing work of several years duration filled with many prototypes, thorough testing and fine tweaking, a new range of professional clarinets did finally hit the market. DESCRIPTION The RZ clarinets manufactured in our workshop are a genuine czech product following the famous tradition of hand crafted musical instruments in Kraslice. They can be considered as a work of affection, beauty and mastery of highly skilled czech craftsmen, that provide the instrument with all their craftsmanship and longtime experience. By right these instruments can take pride of having the predicate "czech hand made". The RZ clarinets are crafted out of high quality, naturally long seasoned Grenadilla wood keeping the nature finish. The main features represent the new polycilindrical bore along with optimized tone hole positions. Great attention during the manufacturing process is dedicated to the keywork, that appeals by its beautiful design, impresses by its superb ergonomics and persuades by its excellent workmanship beginning with key refining up to premium silverplating with long durability. The comfortable ring keys facilitate the performing of very demanding techniques. The unique impression gets supported by specially worked out joint rings and the overall clarinet design is completed by individually developed barrels and bells made of Grenadilla or optionally Cocobolo wood. The RZ Clarinets have been designed with the professional player in mind. They stand out off the line by their intonation purity, easy response in all the registers and beautiful warm round sound. With increasing dynamics, their supporting and focused foundation will fill in every concert hall. All instruments are being individually play tested by Milan Rericha, the endorser of the RZ brand, confirming his personal distribution approval by its signature on the guarantee card.
