Testimonial IoT is a very important domain and the hot topic across the globe. IoT is something more than the internet and connect the physical and the virtual world. IoT can make the verticals such as Power, Safety and Surveillance, Intelligent Transport Systems, Health, Intelligent buildings and homes etc, Smart by providing real time data, which can be analyzed using various data paralytics techniques to create intelligence. Intelligence can be used for planning and various operational decisions. A number of international organizations such as ITU, OneM2M, AIoTI etc are working on developing standards in IoT domain. ITU is having Study Group-20 on IoT and its applications on Smart Cities and communities. This event is being held in time as it will help in developing ecosystem in the IoT domain, which may be used in developing Smart Cities. I again congratulate the VIT Chennai for arranging this mega event and wish it to be a big success. Sushil Kumar Dy. Director General (IoT), Telecommunication Engineering Center, Department of Telecommunications, Ministry of Communication & IT, Government of India,
