ELECTRICAL REQUIREMENTS NOTICE WARNING: Failure to follow this code may cause resetting of the equipment or other machine malfunctions. Bike/Recline/Wave/Step/Top/Synchro/Personal Kinesis/Iso Control- Cardio equipment, other than Treadmills, are designed to be used on a standard electrical line according to the chart at right. NEMA 5-15 *All standard cardio units (non treadmill) are supplied with daisy chain cords to allow connection of up to 5 units from a single electrical source. - 110 Volt Treadmill Applications - Treadmills require a individual branch circuit* according to the electrical configuration listed in the chart at right. NEMA 5-20 *One individual branch circuit for each treadmill. The hot, neutral and ground wires must each be independently isolated (not looped or tied to other circuits). NEMA 5-20R Electrical supply may fluctuate in your area. To ensure stable performance of the product we require the following wiring gauges based on the distance between the single treadmill and the panel: 100 = 10 Gauge; 150 = 8 Gauge; 200 = 6 Gauge. Touch Screen TV Installation (Standard Cable/Satellite Analog Signal) Monitors require a video output from the client source (Cable/Dish/DVD/VCR/Antenna) available at each unit. Client is responsible for the entire video network including, but not limited to, all cables, hardware and signal strength. It is the responsibility of the client to run coaxial cable from the video source to the machine to provide a video signal at each unit. All video outlets/cables must be functional the day before the delivery. For the best picture a TV signal strength of -50 dbm (59 dbuv) (-1 dbmv) is required at each cable end. For Cable/Dish digital signals, a convertor device may be needed to provide the correct signal. This is based on individual provider requirements. IMPORTANT: If for any reason, the electrical requirements, video source / cabling, and internet connection are not available at the time of installation, the client will be responsible for any additional installation charges associated with the return visit(s) Digital Cable/Satellite TV In conjunction with the FCC mandated over the air analog to digital broadcast change many cable companies have implemented their own digital transition. This will affect fitness facilities with standard cable packages; some standard cable providers will continue to provide analog cable TV signals for many years, while others have already transitioned to digital. Please check with your local cable provider for details on their analog service end date and if cable set-top boxes (STB) or a headend system will be necessary. Cable companies were not mandated by the FCC to transition to digital, so their time line varies widely by region. WHAT KEY INFORMATION SHOULD I KNOW BEFORE CONTACTING A TELEVISION SERVICE PROVIDER? 1. You should know the number of televisions that you want or have and the types of signals they are able to receive. 2. You should know the number of channels you would like each television to receive. Limiting channel options may result in cost savings. 3. You should work with the business division of a cable service provider to be certain that they understand your needs. *Check with your cable provider for details on their analog service end date. ** Software Upgrade to QAM on older Visio units are available. HEADEND SYSTEM FOR ENCRYPTED SIGNALS Many cable companies now offer a headend solution for their business clientele. Satellite companies have been providing this for years. The system (usually a rack system) takes the encrypted signal, decodes it, and provides each cardio unit with a signal that can be used without a provider box at each location. This will allow the use of the touch screen TV controls on the Visio LCD s Please contact your television service provider for more details. IMPORTANT: If, for any reason, the electrical requirements, video source/cabling, and internet connection are not available at the time of installation, the client will be responsible for additional installation charges associated with the return visit(s) VISIOWEB / Unity (Technogym Platforms) An Internet connection is needed for the full function of VISIOWEB/Unity. The client needs to provide a wired (CAT 5/ CAT6) or a wireless connection (as detailed below). NOTE: consider a VISIOWEB/Unity display exactly as a standard PC or notebook. The above table illustrates the infrastructure requirements (minimum and target) based on the number of installed cardio units. Notes: One standard/ commercial WiFi access point for no more than 6 units. One professional WiFi access point for no more than 20 units or more (see datasheet of professional access point). Minimal requirements are for 2-3 units using WEB at the same time with basic quality of service. Professional router must be sized properly to serve the number of connections, including streaming video, YouTube SD, etc The Internet connection must be installed and configured by the client prior to installation. Personal Kinesis Installation PLEASE NOTE: Only applicable for installations that include Personal Kinesis products. The unit MUST be installed on a wall. A recessed space is not necessary. Hardware and brackets are supplied to secure the unit to the wall. The clients general contractor should be consulted for wall mounting to avoid hidden electrical, mechanical, video, water etc lines in walls. TG is not capable of knowing this information so it must be cleared by the client. The client assumes all liability. If baseboards, mirrors, or other wall coverings are present they must be removed by the customer prior to installation because the frame will be attached to the wall studs. 110VAC power/outlet - right hand side between the 53.1 and 67 measurements (see drawing below) The dimensions outlined below are MAXIMUM measurements. The unit must be leveled so the final height is variable. Note: The Vision Model will be unable to be installed in a recessed space as access to the sides is needed for proper installation. *Important: If, for any reason, the baseboard is not cut or the position of the outlet is incorrect at the time of delivery/installation, the client will be responsible for additional charges associated with the return visit(s) Page 6
