GHOSTS IN THE GRAVEYARD: HOW TO LAY THE GAME Ghosts in the Graveyard is layed around Halloeen-time, and is one o the highlights o the year or elementaryschool E students in the arkland School District (Allenton, A) The game as develoed y arkland School District hysical Education teacher Bo Clark To reare or the game, the gym is decorated like a graveyard ith gym mats, large oxes, or other oects turned u on their sides, orming tomstones to e used as hiding laces during lay In some schools, lights are dimmed and lacklights are used Oten, there are creative (sometimes elaorate) decorations and sound recordings to augment the atmoshere The game egins ith students ositioned around the erimeter o the gym, acing the all and hiding their eyes One, or a e, ghosts are selected y silently taing them on the shoulder Only these students kno they have een chosen Ater secretly choosing the ghost(s), the teacher calls out a code ord, such as ack-o-lantern or golin, and all the students egin alking around the gym asking each another, Are you the ghost (A smart ghost asks others i they are the ghost to ool others into assuming he/she is not!)
