SET UP ACCESS POINT ROUTERS WiFi Connectivity Overview The Zebra Retail Solutions Inventory System provides instant communications at the end of each section. The Internet reports are updated in real-time. Each Fry s location is provided four-six Access Point Routers depending on store square footage. This provides the maximum range of coverage, and allows the scanning associates to stay in range in most parts of the store. Access Point Router in Ethernet Jack Access Point Router #1 Once the Access Point Router, labeled Access Point #1, is connected into the Ethernet jack. The user needs to simply plug the access point router into the same location from previous Hart Inventories. Additional Access Point Routers To ensure maximum connectivity, Hart provided additional access point routers. These access point routers will be placed throughout the store floor. Keep access point routers at least 150 feet away from each other. These access point routers utilize the USB Modem Aircards for scanner communications. 7

SET UP ACCESS POINTS SET UP ACCESS POINT IN NETWORK JACK One CradlePoint router ( access point router ) will be connected to your existing network connection which you use for the Zebra inventories. This access point router is labeled #1. 1. Clear a flat surface area at the counter, with access to a network jack and close to a computer with Internet access. 2. Place the following items on the table: Access Point #1 Scanners Wireless Control ID 3. Connect the power supply for the access point router to the port on the back then plug into available outlet. 4. Insert one end of the Ethernet cord into the blue port on the access point router. 5. Insert the other end of the Ethernet cord directly into your network jack. Connect to Network jack used for Zebra inventories. Power Source 6. Once the access point router #1 has been connected to the power outlet and your Network jack, the Power Status, (green), Wireless indicator (green) and WAN status lights (blue or green) should be lit (see below) Power WAN Status Wireless The access point router is now ready to use! - Remember to connect the access point before scanning any live Inventory Data! 8

SET UP ADDITIONAL ACCESS POINTS WITH USB MODEMS Before Inventory, you want to maximize the range of wireless communications and provide coverage throughout the entire sales floor. Plug the additional access points into any power outlet on sales floor. These access point routers will require a USB Modem Aircard (VZ or ATT) connection for transmissions. All Access Point Routers must be at least (150) feet away from each other to achieve the best coverage. To connect the additional access points: 1. Clear a fat surface area with access to a power outlet. 2. Place the Access Point Router and USB Modem AirCard in the area: 3. Connect the power adapter for the access point router to the port on the back then plug into an available outlet. 4. Insert the USB Modem Aircard into the USB port in the back of the access point router. Note: You received (2) USB Aircard types for each access point. The VZ card should provide the best coverage. Do not attempt to use both Aircards in one access point router. USB Modem Aircard Insert USB Modem Aircard into USB port. 5. Once the access point router has been connected to the power outlet and the USB Modem Aircard has been connected, the Power Status, (green), USB Port 3 (blue or green) and Wireless indicator (green) should be lit (see below). Wireless USB Port#3 Power 6. Remember - for maximum connectivity keep at least 150 feet in between all access points. 9
