REGULAR PROGRAMS Bookmobile (Points West) September 11th and 25th at 1:30 pm. Bookmobile now runs to Points West every two weeks. Bookmobile (Heritage Tower) September 13th and 27th at 1:30 pm. Bookmobile currently runs to Heritage Tower every two weeks. Tabletop Gamers September 13th from 6 to 8 pm. All ages welcome! Snacks provided by Domino s Pizza and Mint Drugs. Come check it out! (TTG is cancelled for Sept. 27th due to staff training) After School Club Wednesdays and Thursdays from 3:45 to 5pm. Begins September 5th and 6th. New registration forms will need to be filled out for the new school year. Bussing can be arranged through your school division s transportation department. Young Adults Only September 20th from 6 to 8pm. New program for young adults only! Alternate Thursdays. For those 13 to 18 years old. Nerf Wars September 21 from 4:45 to 6pm. It s back! Space is limited so register early. New forms needed for the new school year. Story Time with Peace Parent Link Fridays at 10:30am. Intended for children 3 to 5 years old but all children welcome. Parent participation required. 2

SPECIAL EVENTS Art Gallery Exhibition Opening Reception August 29th from 6 to 8pm. Please join us for Leah Lawton's Art Exhibition Opening. Light refreshments will be provided. Art will be on display from August 29th to September 29th. Staycation September 1st from 2 to 4pm. Let s watch Sherlock Gnomes and then try to find the gnomes hiding in the Library! French Language Resources Display September 6th at 1pm. Peace Library System will be here to show teachers and parents what resources are available to them to support French education through the Library. International Literacy Day September 8th. Activities available throughout the day. Film Screening September 12th from 6 to 8pm. Strong Medicine. This film weaves together indigenous knowledge of culture and wellness with western knowledge of HIV testing and treatment. Join us for this short film with discussion to follow. Heart Math September 15th at 1pm. Join Mental Heath Services with some tips and tricks for distressing. Limited space so please register at the circulation desk. Alberta Culture Days September 28th & 29th. Various activites. See page 5 For a schedule of events. 3

IN THE DMI ART GALLERY Art by Leah Lawton August 29th to September 29th. Works by local artist, Leah Lawton, will be on display. Opening reception on August 29th from 6 to 8pm. Light refreshment will be served. 4

ONLINE RESOURCES www.tracpac.ab.ca TRACpac is an online catalogue system that lets you search the collections of many libraries across Alberta. It also lets you manage your account so once you find the item you are looking for, you can request it right from home. It also lets you check what you have out and when your items are due back. You can renew your items right from your computer, tablet, or phone. TRACpac also gives you access to Libby (formerly Overdrive) for digital audiobooks and e-books and Hoopla for digital audiobooks, music, movies, TV and more. Sign on to TRACpac with your library card number and password (phone your library if you don t know it) and start exploring. 8

Join the Library Board or The Friends of the Library to have your input heard regarding the policies and operations of the library! Ask for an application at the front desk or check our website. Next Library Board Meeting September 13th at 6pm. The Public is invited to observe. Family $20 Teen & Adult (13+) $15 Child 0-12 Free** Seniors (65+) Free Replacement card $6 Institutional $50 Overdue and other fines: DVDs/CDs 50 /day All other material 35 /day A/V material returned in book drop $2 Lost and damaged items replacement cost Government issued ID is required and proof of address. Card fees may be waived at the discretion of the Library Director or designate; proof of financial hardship may be required. **When a parent or guardian has a valid Library Card. 10

Faxing Sending: Local = $1.00 Long Distance** =$2.00 Receiving: Local & Long distance 25 pp **Sorry, no international faxing. Computers & Internet We have 7 computers connected to the internet. Free for all of the public to use. Must check in at Circulation Desk. Limited to 2 hours per day. Exam Proctoring If you need to write an exam for distance education, we offer proctoring. There is a fee of $40 for this service. Please call the Library at least 2 weeks before the exam date to book your appointment.
