Introduction The exercises in this book include descriptions and screen shots within SharePoint. There may be videos available in your SharePoint site collection to help you with the exercises as well. The book references the videos several times, but there are many other videos that may be useful throughout the book. Try to refer to the videos sites for additional help. In addition, there are many places in each chapter entitled Help. These sections are there to help you walk through the steps (if you need help to complete a step). Be sure you take time to learn the steps introduced to you in the first chapter and each subsequent chapter. The later chapters will not provide as much detail on each step since you are expected to learn SharePoint as you proceed. If you need to in later chapters, feel free to refer back to the earlier steps or chapters to help you review what you have already learned. The focus of this book is on how to use SharePoint to collaborate with other students. The exercises in the book focus on how students may use SharePoint within an Academic setting for collaboration purposes. Copyright 2009-2010 by Carey Cole. All rights reserved.
