CATV Solutions CATV Airport Application Jacksonville International Airport s new CNN Airport News Display monitors for the recent Concourse A & Concourse C terminal expansion. The CATV Distribution system utilized ½ coax as a backbone from the MDF to IDF s. Blonder Tongue Broadband distribution hardware based on 550MHZ was used. CAT6 cabling was installed from each IDF to each monitor location in order to provide UTP balun connection options. The CATV Hubs (500303) were specified to distribute the CATV signal to the monitors and were installed at each IDF. CATV Baluns II (500302) were specified to be connected to a Zenith HDS5610 tuner at each monitor. A total of (16) LG 47 monitors were specified to display the CNN Airport News and Airport Visual Paging.
CATV Solutions CATV Hotel Application A Thailand systems integrator completed a major hotel MATV installation based around MuxLab s CATV Hub (500304) and CATV Balun II (500302). The application involved the distribution of CATV broadband TV to 220 TVs in the hotel using a hybrid cabling system of fiber, coax and Cat5e cable. MATV is a Master Antenna TeleVision and the structure as show in below The MATV satellite headend transmits the RF channels to a fiber optic transmitter which in turn is converted to coax and then fed into an active 1x16 coax RF splitter amplifier. The splitter amplifier distributes the RF via coax to sixteen (16) sub-distribution points in multiple buildings around the hotel site where the signal is again amplified. The output of each of the sixteen amplifiers is fed into either an 8 or 16-channel CATV Hub (500300/304) or into a 2/4-way splitter and then into individual CATV Baluns (500302). The maximum cable length was 70m and the highest channel frequency distributed is 700 MHz and therefore Piramid needed to provide additional RF amplification to overcome the Cat5e signal loss. Channel Frequency is FM, 21, 23, 25, 27, 29, 31, 33,35,37,39,41,43,45,47,49,51,53,55,57.
