RF & SI/PSI Certification by External Test House can be pricey. Sony are cooperating with Regulators in Africa & Asia To develop RF & SIPSI Testsuites Focused on real scenarios that will have in the market. With the intention that Regulators will distribute Testsuites for a minimal fee. The Testsuites have been reviewed by key stake holders.

Self Test is more cost effective for Manufacturers If Manufacturer has invested large sums of money in RF measurement equipment, then it is counter intuitive to spend large sums of money for external RF Testing. Well know manufacturers have a valuable brand to protect. Self declaration and surveillance, random checks in market. External Type houses can lead to more robust market products Some manufacturers may lack necessary equipment and expertise. Unscrupulous Test houses may realize they get paid more when a receiver fails.
