2. Consider how to deal with alternative essence track delivery (sign language, alt spoken language, alt captions, etc.) Should we form a specialist recommended practice? 3. Clean up the ISDCF Technical document page so ONLY ONE version of each document is shown (too confusing now). 4. Break links to older versions of the documents. (If possible, redirect to the main page.) 5. AdHoc group to post updates to Doc3 and Doc5. 6. Update the ISDCF content page - clean up if desired 7. Post the encrypted SMPTE-DCP test content to the ISDCF website. From Earlier Meetings: 8. Create a generic ISDCF framing chart to be freely shared (Wade). Update and post Tech Document 12 -Ingest Behavior document 10.Techie group to discuss RPL timing - Harold, Dean/JP (Dolby), Tim R (TI), Bill E., Kevin (Christie). Jerry to send emails to Harold. 11.Subgroup to edit / recommend changes for Document 12 - RP for Ingest Behavior - Steve L to lead, Dean B, John H, Mike R, Jim W, Chris W, Bill E volunteered to participate. ISDCF Forum: still active, but very few postings Sharing recordings of ISDCF meeting. We still only want these recordings and notes taking CinemaCon happened: 1) ISDCF/EDCF meeting 1) Too short, only a meet and greet - could be more? 2) Learned from unusual exhibitors. 3) Chair comments: Maybe hold an ISDCF meeting to attract exhibitors (with EDCF invited). EDCF/ISDCF could be a cocktail party. 2) Inter-Society Meeting - Cell phone adventures 1) Concept of MicroBoredom introduced 2) Chair conclusion: younger folks will demand cell phone access in theaters. ISDCF Meeting May 10, 2017 Meeting Notes Version 1 Page! 2/!

3) Still issue with piracy from cell phones. 4) Some theaters are testing cell phone section in theaters. 3) Observation: more technology on display at this CinemaCon (VR, LED Walls, etc). Not backed up by most in room. 4) LED Walls. 50% saw Sony, 25% saw the Samsung 1) Picture exceptional, Sound not good enough. 10x brighter, unlimited contrast (black screen with no light output) 2) HIGHLY disruptive 3) More deliverables needed 4) Possible problem with video watermarking (visibility) 5) Judder was more visible (at high luminance levels) 6) Samsung has passed DCI compliance tests (posted on DCI website) 7) Samsung 500nits (current spec is 50nits, some PLF at 100nits) 8) Sound will be a challenge. Not part of DCI s CTP (B-Chain not described). ) NAB had many LED screens on display - lots of entries in the marketplace. Many other applications (sports bars) 10) Concerns of reliability and repair. Cost not discussed. Volume of production will increase. MTBF much lower than current DMD projector technology (orders of magnitude) 11) Samsung LED pixel pitch about 2.6mm SMPTE-DCP - Updates General: Focus on the known issues: about 600 sites have issues with server (120-ish sites) / TMS (320-ish sites) / or system that for some reason have problems. The known TMS issues are being addressed - should be updated by end of 2017. Server upgrades (software) - design underway. We think about 20% of US/Canada screens have not been tested- mainly smaller markets/screens. (Some higher number screens (i.e. screen #20) with problems in encrypted subtitles ISDCF Meeting May 10, 2017 Meeting Notes Version 1 Page! 3/!

and audio routing.) Disney 2017 - Beauty and the Beast, Born in China, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 - FULL (HD and Satellite) primary delivery in SMPTE-DCP. Plans to continue. Under 1% problems attributed to SMPTE-DCP. Disney plans all future titles to be primary delivery in SMPTE-DCP - both 2D and 3D. Last release: 4,300+ locations - (600+ sites delivered Interop-DCP due to known server/tms / system issues) Drive-In theaters joining the pool (it s summer!) Some won t be upgraded until end of summer. FYI The distribution is a SMPTE-DCP of type 2.0 for the OV (original version) 5.1 audio and a VF (version file) containing 7.1 and another VF with the Atmos data making the total package size smaller. (We want type 2.1, but some systems have problem with 2.1.) Trailer pod not yet ready to move to SMPTE-DCP. Issue with the number of mastering houses making trailers - some that don t have experience making proper SMPTE-DCP packages. Fox Snatched this week. Diary of a Wimpy Kid 4 Next Week. Kingsmen 2 in October and other major releases - Mountain Between Us, Red Sparrow, Murder on the Orient Express and Greatest Showman on Earth all planned to be SMPTE-DCP this year. More may be added. None of these are 3D titles. Paramount Baywatch 3,500+ locations. SMPTE-DCP and Hard Drive (back up Interop at depots). Norway as well. ISDCF Meeting May 10, 2017 Meeting Notes Version 1 Page! 4/!

Target all future 2D releases for SMPTE-DCP. Universal: Girl s Trip (July 21), Half to Death (Oct 13) Sony (no report) Trainspotting - similar to Disney WB (no report) Lionsgate (no report) Alternative Languages and Systems Many new alternative presentation systems are being proposed (smartphone alternate language, smartphone closed caption, new device alternate language, new device closed caption, new device sign language, avatar based rendering, etc.) Many of these are creating new workflows to get content and for synchronization with the main playback. Some use cloud based delivery, some propose DCP delivery. Should ISDCF give guidance for new systems in this space? Example is Dolby s use of the SMPTE-DCP for delivery of Atmos. This was a clear easy use of existing technology for delivery of new features. The use of new track files can be an effective way to carry new data types. Example: new audio track for a language that is not included in the original DCP. ISDCF seems to agree that we should recommend an approach for deliveries of these types. Suggestions / guidelines are needed in this ISDCF Meeting May 10, 2017 Meeting Notes Version 1 Page! 5/!

space. We didn t have a specific recommendation on how to move forward with guidelines. The specific of the Brazilian Closed Caption solution was discussed as an instance of a needed aux data track. We again discussed the avatar solution and the video solution. The current proposal is the avatar solution uses the existing Brazilian closed caption track which could be interpreted by a device in the theater to generate the avatar rendering. It could be possible to pre-define a avatar stream and include as one of the closed caption tracks. The video solution is currently proposed to use one of the audio tracks to carry a video stream. The discussion encouraged DCI members to immediately start work on moving the video track out of the audio track and into a aux data track for a solution short term and long term. Should ISDCF create a paper for recommendations/discussions in this general space? Should we have a full day meeting with experts to create solutions? Solutions can be motivated by business pressures and encouraging companies to solve problems, not implement solutions suggested by others. (Lunch break with Birthday cake!) Is there a need for a specialist meeting/document? There is some interest, but not enough to form a committee. We will talk about more next ISDCF meeting. Technical Documents on ISDCF site Chairman observations: ISDCF documents are being referenced in delivery specification for some content providers. The current set of documents needs a refresh and clean up. ISDCF Meeting May 10, 2017 Meeting Notes Version 1 Page! 6/!

We should not wordsmith these documents as a group. Individuals or small groups need to propose updates. One issue was identified of a specific issue for a two projector configuration and SMPTE-DCP for content authentication keys. This seems to be a specific server/projector problem and not a generic issue. This may be an implementation issue, not a spec issue. Sounds like a key generation problem. Suggestion was to modify doc 5 to describe this situation to help resolve. An Adhoc Group is working on suggested revisions to Doc 3 and Doc 5. Doc 6 should be removed from the website. We should update the link to DCI specification The test content on the ISDCF site was discussed. We decided to leave the SMPTE-DCP test content on the site and add the encrypted version. All other content could be cleaned up, but it s valuable to have on the site. SMPTE version of FLM/FLMx is being used!! No update on the HDR recommendations. ISDCF Meeting May 10, 2017 Meeting Notes Version 1 Page! 7/!

SMPTE 21DC is about to look at new security requirements. Should we have a glossary of color terms? No, just use google and Wikipedia! SMPTE EG432-1 color processing for digital cinema. Updates SMPTE held working day. 5 year review completed FIPS study group underway Immersive sound input from 25css to 21DC No other reports. (JDCF, EDCF, Vendors) Attendance on next page.
