I. Issues not specific to one room or lab 1) W30H10 should be W36H20 (i.e., 36 long, 20 deep) in all labs, if possible 2) Request that MT60D01 be changed to a (new) MT with 18 drawers and a 24 knee space. 3) Custom tall cabinet T48H05 (22 deep) on AQ-601 sheet dated 12/05/2011 is not found on current AQ-601 (p. 105). It is needed in Rooms 317 & 319 (at least). 4) Please check to see if any other tall cabinet units got omitted from current AQ-601. We would like to reconsider all such cabinets in all labs. 5) FH07 should be a 5 hood and FH04 a 6 hood. Page 106 fume diagrams have them listed as the opposite: 6) All hoods should have two faucets / cup sinks. It appears from diagrams that there is only one in the back right (see above). 7) All hoods in labs should be able to be turned down or off. [The hood in classroom 126 needs to be able to be turned completely off. This hood currently is not identified with a code.] 8) All windows should have blinds. This includes windows by / on door(s), sky lights, and glass wall windows between 319A and both 317 and 319 [on the 317 and 319 sides]. 9) Every door should have a light switch. Labs appear to have only one switch in room (even though two doors). 10) Does IC mean intercom? 11) Lighting should be flexible (lights near projector screens able to be shut off or dimmed separate from other lights, e.g.). Is lighting coded for yet? This has not been discussed with us in meetings thus far. 12) For all student drawers in all labs, need removable combination lock hardware. For all non-student drawers and cabinets in all labs, want keyed lock hardware.

II. Room 126 (classroom) 1) Reconfigure to reflect current drawing (see below), which includes (among other things: Move teaching station over to make room for adding computer station (lectern) Tile flooring in front part of room; carpet where students sit Removal of some (or all) of the storage units on the east side wall of the room, to make room for student white boards. But make sure there is at least some storage in room (see next bullet point). Add a corner storage unit in the corner behind the screen (or other corner?) Add coat hooks where noted Make teaching station similar to those in the labs with vacuum, air, and electrical at the sink unit, and drawers and knee space in the moveable demonstration table (i.e., MT60D01). Add white board (possibly several smaller white boards) on west side wall. 2) Make sure hood can be turned completely off when not in use. 3) Determine a spot for periodic table. 4) Do we need a safety shower? If so, could it be located in hallway? 5) Must window on east wall remain where it is? Is this a problem? (put white board(s)) coat hooks white board

III. Chem lab 319 / 317 (general) 1) Add EYE-01 to each side sink (3 total) in both labs. (Shown below for 319; also do in 317) 2) Add a second wall mounted cabinet (W36R01?) above the two non-glass-wall periphery sinks in both labs. NOT SHOWN BELOW BECAUSE GETTING TOO MESSY. 3) Make all six hoods (total) in 317 and 319 have B36R03 cabinetry. Currently, one of the three hoods in 319 is B24R03, and one of the three in 317 is B36C05 (see below, for 319, but make the same changes in the corresponding places in 317). 4) We need a detailed diagram for the oval stations in these two labs. The only oval station found on AQ-602 is the biology station. 5) Two separate hot / cold taps are needed on each of the oval stations noted in 4 above. 6) Two separate additional spigots (cold water only taps on side of sink for condenser usage only) are also needed at each sink on each oval station noted in 4 above. 7) Change the B30C05 to two B15D02 s on the cabinet just next to MT42D02 (near SE corner of room 319, and near SW corner in 317). 8) Change T48R04 and T48R05 (both) to T48H05 (22 deep) [See note I.3 above.] 9) Swap position of southern-most B15D02 with the northern B15C03 in the northern-most set of these four stacks on the west wall of 319 (and the east wall of 317) (See below, for 319, but make the same changes in the corresponding places in 317). 10) Change one of the three B15D02 s in each of the two sets on the west wall of 319 (and the east wall of 317) to B15D14 (see below, for 319, but make the same changes in the corresponding places in 317) Change to two B36R03 Change to T48H05 EYE-01 Change to B15D02 Change to B15D14 Change to B15C03 EYE-01 Change to B15D14 EYE-01 Change to two B15D02 s Change to T48H05

IV. Chem lab 302 (organic) 1) Change the cabinetry in the two FH-08 hoods labeled B18D02 x2 / B24R03 to B21D02 x2 / B18R03 (same cabinetry as in the FH-07 hoods). 2) Change the cabinetry in the FH-08 hood labeled B21D02 x2 /..CA03 so that it contains a flammable storage cabinet in ½ of the space underneath the hood, with the other half being a cabinet (no drawers) B30R03?) 3) Please provide a casework diagram for FH08A hood (see #4 below). 4) The markings for the cabinetry on the ADA hoods are confusing to me (e.g., A18R03, A24D02). Could they be in error? I thought that there could not be drawers or cabinets below those hoods at all. The codes on the diagram on page AQ-602 for the FH-03A hoods (e.g., A24K01 and A36K01) indicate knee wells / openings as I would have expected for the FH08A hoods. Please clarify and/or discuss. 5) Change the A30R02 adjacent to the ADA hood to A30D01. 6) Change T42R04 to T42R03. 7) Add a pull-out writing tray above each of the two B21D02 stacks in every hood that has such stacks (8 hoods, 16 pull-outs in all). Need to revisit this issue with the ADA hoods once #4 is clarified. 8) Change all 6 SK-03 sinks to SK01. Need larger sinks there since there are none on periphery. See #2 above See #1 above See #6 above See #5 above See #4 above

V. Instrument lab (322F) 1) Remove two B30C02 units on east wall (north of door to research lab) completely (no benchtop) to free up space for more white board space and perhaps a desk (see diagram). 2) Move G-01, A-01, V-01, SPG-01, etc. further north because of change in #1 above. 3) Add 5 of white board to space vacated by #1 above (or extend / lengthen existing white board?). See #2 above See #1 above See #3 above

VI. Student Research lab (304) 1) Would like clarification on W30H05 and W30H06. Can t exactly tell from diagram on p. AQ-601 exactly what this are. What is the difference between W30H05 and W30H11? 2) Verify that 8 pull-out writing trays are really there (they are shown but not labeled). 3) Need to add sinks, gas, air, and vacuum to the two large central benches. Can we discuss? 4) Cannot find B18D22 on AQ-601. Please clarify what this is. 5) Request for narrow (18 x 36 ) moveable table (with wheels), bench height, for instructor. VII. Data Lab (319A) OK VIII. Chem Prep Lab (322) 1) Change the hood (currently designated FH-03) to be FH-08 except with cabinetry as in FH-03. I.e., needs air, gas, vac, etc. (like hoods in organic lab). 2) Door from 332B to hallway should be exit-only door no knob on hallway side. Also, since it is an emergency use only exit door, should it not open outward rather than inward? 3) Add another emergency (exit-only) door from 322C to hallway. 4) Put cameras in 322B and 322C that feed into the Chem Lab Manager s office (322D). 5) Change sink SK-03 (by GW-03) to SK-02. 6) Add telephone (general lab line) to 322 (central space). Add another telephone (same line) to service corridor 322A (down near organic lab entrance). 7) Make phone in 322D have two lines: 1 that is the general lab line; a 2 nd that is separate Lab Manager s line. 8) In 322D, remove W30H09. In its place, add a table / cabinet (desk height) for non-lab items (microwave, personal refrigerator (for consumable food items), and other consumable foodrelated items that should not be stored in the lab areas). 9) Verify that B30K01 means benchtop with nothing underneath it (i.e., knee space only). Add a stool with a back in front of this workspace. 10) Make another spot as in #9 (i.e., B30K01 with stool with a back) where B30R02 is (see below). See #9 above See #10 above
