DLP Based Projectors Calculation of the projection distance: PTDW5000DW5000L For a screen size, use the equation below to calculate the projection distance. (unit: mm) ETDLE100 15 : 9 minimum L (m) = (diagonal screen size in inches) x 0.0300 0.0452 maximum L (m) = (diagonal screen size in inches) x 0.0404 0.0478 Supplied lens 15 : 9 minimum L (m) = (diagonal screen size in inches) x 0.0402 0.0650 maximum L (m) = (diagonal screen size in inches) x 0.0530 0.0638 ETDLE200 15 : 9 minimum L (m) = (diagonal screen size in inches) x 0.0547 0.0657 maximum L (m) = (diagonal screen size in inches) x 0.0895 0.0758 ETDLE310 15 : 9 minimum L (m) = (diagonal screen size in inches) x 0.0786 0.1062 maximum L (m) = (diagonal screen size in inches) x 0.1026 0.1056 ETDLE410 15 : 9 minimum L (m) = (diagonal screen size in inches) x 0.1044 0.1374 maximum L (m) = (diagonal screen size in inches) x 0.1951 0.1352 ETDLE050 15 : 9 (fixed focus) L (m) = (diagonal screen size in inches) x 0.0180 0.0361 6
DLP Based Projectors PTDW5000DW5000L Notes on Projector Placement and Operation: The projector uses a highwattage lamp that becomes very hot during operation. Please observe the following precautions. 1. Never place objects on top of the projector while it is operating. 2. Make sure there is an unobstructed space of 500 mm or more around the projector s exhaust openings. 3. Do not stack projector units directly on top of one another for the purpose of multiple (stacked) projection. When stacking projector units, be sure to provide the amount of space indicated below between them. These space requirements also apply to installations where only one projector unit is operating at one time and the other unit is used as a backup. 4. If the projector is placed in a box or enclosure, ensure the temperature of the air surrounding the projector is between 0 C and 35 C. Also make sure the projector s intake and exhaust openings are not blocked. Take particular care to ensure that hot air from the exhaust openings is not sucked into the intake openings. Operating the Projector Continuously: 1. If the projector is to be operated continuously 24 hours a day, use the duallamp optical system s alternating lamp operation (lamp changer) function. The projector cannot be operated continuously 24 hours a day in duallamp mode. Allow a minimum of two hours per day of nonoperation time. 2. The lamp replacement cycle duration becomes shorter if the projector is operated repeatedly for short periods. 7
