The Stage Area The stage is a ground level trapezoidal shaped space with a proscenium arch and a curved apron forestage. A draped off rear stage provides a crossover. The rear stage can be separated using either black drapes or a white cyc cloth. While there is little wing space, there are three pairs of entrance leg curtains which can be pulled onto the stage and also used to mask the walls from the audience. A mid stage curtain can be tracked right across the stage, halving the depth. This is useful if there is only a small amount of stage required, or to close off part of the stage in order to set up a dance or scene while the performance continues out the front. A red velvet front of house curtain closes off the main stage leaving only the apron visible to the audience. Backstage Rooms On either side of the stage there is a room that can be used as backstage space. These rooms are 11m x 6m (at the widest points) and can be divided in half to form two smaller spaces. These are fitted with a show-relay system to enable off stage performers to hear the performance. The stage manager is able to announce to these rooms from a microphone in prompt corner. There is one large classroom, on the South (Stage Right) corridor which may also be used by prior arrangement.

Foyer At the front of the building, there is the main foyer with three entrance doors which lead in from a garden area from which there are gates to the car park and street. As well as a general waiting area, the foyer and garden spaces may also be used for food service or as a separate function area. From the foyer are two stair cases leading to the main auditorium entrance doors. Kitchen Attached to the foyer is a medium sized kitchen with a serving hatch. This room is equipped with a fridge-freezer, electric oven and cook top, double sink and domestic dishwashing machine. There is also hot water urn and small sandwich toaster. Extra Foyer Space Next to the kitchen is a large space (roughly 5m x 5m) which can be used as a separate space or opened up to become additional foyer space. This is particularly suited to use as a merchandise space. Box Office A glass fronted box office room is attached to the main foyer and available for ticketing or merchandise sales. Bathroom Facilities The bathrooms are located at one end of the foyer. A short hallway leads into the main male and female blocks and a separate disabled facility, with baby changing equipment, is located next to it. Equipment This venue has a good collection of high end equipment available with more available by prior arrangement (extra fees apply). A client is also welcome to bring their own additions by arrangement with the venue manager. Please note that we must have advance warning on the use of smoke effects. Likewise, glitter and confetti drops or pyrotechnics are not allowed unless cleared in advance by the venue manager. Audio The in house audio consists of a fixed Left, Right, Centre (summing) and Subs system controlled by a BSS Soundweb London Blu-100 processor. Control is by an Allen & Heath QU32 digital mixer. The system can be used as a full mixer system or as a basic automatic lectern and PC playback system. Use of the standard system is included in the hire and minor modifications can be made for free. Major changes will incur an extra charge. If you wish to use gel to change colours then you may supply it or let us know in plenty of time to order as we hold limited stock. All lighting positions are wired with multiple bar patches. There are floor patches on stage. On Stage Positions There are four fixed position bars above the stage numbered LX1-4 from downstage to upstage. FOH Bridges There are two bridge positions numbers FOH 1 & 2 (FOH 1 being closer to stage). FOH1 holds the majority of FOH washes, specials and curtain warmers. FOH 2 holds a wash for the apron area. Boom Truss There is one boom truss on each side of the auditorium. These hold a number of side lights and apron cross lights. AV System The AV system consists of an installed roll down screen and fixed projector. This system is controlled via the audio control system. It ONLY has VGA inputs, one at stage level (Down-Stage Left) and one in the control room. This system cannot easily be muted so plan multiple PowerPoint/video displays carefully. The use of black slides where no picture is wanted is recommended. This system can be controlled from the control room or the main lectern and can be used alongside the basic audio system. A portable data projector is also available (extra charges apply). This may hang above the stage or sit on a stand on the stage. It can be used to rear project to the cyc cloth or onto one of the folding screens.
