Today, IUP has a diverse, vibrant, research-based, and student-centered community comprising distinguished faculty members and more than fifteen thousand undergraduate and graduate students from across the nation and around the world. The extensive choices and resources of the fifth-largest university in Pennsylvania - including more than 130 undergraduate degree programs, a nationally recognized honors college, and more than sixty master s and doctoral programs make IUP an attractive university. All are offered at a cost much less than state-related and private universities. With a network of grant-funded centers, IUP s faculty members are fully engaged in a variety of research projects in which they involve graduate and undergraduate students. Students enjoy a supportive learning environment that prepares them for meaningful careers as well as productive and meaningful lives of leadership, service, and distinction. At IUP, students learn from Fulbright Scholars, Rome Prize winners, and other faculty members who have been recognized by numerous learned societies for dedication to their respective fields. As a result, the university has an alumni body that includes leaders in the corporate world, in government, and in public service. Main Campus Located in the heart of Indiana, Pa., IUP s main campus has grown from twelve acres and one building in 1875, to 354 acres and over 75 major buildings now. In recent years, IUP has been replacing more than a dozen residential buildings to enhance the campus s livinglearning environment. The first new buildings opened in Fall 2007. 4
