Thriller Thriller was the sixth studio album by Michael Jackson. It was released November 30, 1982. Thriller used many different genres, including Pop, R&B, Post-disco, Funk and adult contemporary music. The album was recorded between April and November 1982 at Westlakestudios in LA. The album cost $750,000. The studio was founded in the 1970s by Tom Hidley, and is credited as "one of the first big commercial efforts to produce acoustically standardised 'interchangeable' rooms". The rooms should give a fairly flat frequency response at the recording position. The studio had room A to E. Thriller was in room A created. Room A had a 60 channel Neve V3 console and a 1,200-square-foot tracking room, including a large piano isolation room.

Four of the nine tracks on the album were written by Michael Jackson. Seven singles were released, all of them reached the top 10 in the Billboard Hot 100. Three of them had music videos. Only Be my baby and The lady of my life were not released as singles. In only one year, Thriller became the bestselling album of all time! It sold about 65 million times all over the world. The album won eight Grammys in 1984. Thriller broke for the first time racial barriers in Pop music and got Michael a meeting with President Reagan. The album was one of the first who used music videos as promotion. The album was ranked number 20 on Rolling Stones magazine s Top 500 Albums of All Time. Beat it: Beat it is written and performed by Michael Jackson and produced by Quincy Jones. Quincy wanted a Rock and Roll song and Michael later said that he wanted to make a Rock song that he would buy, too. Eddie Van Halen played the songs guitar solo. Beat it was released February 3, 1983. The music video is about Michael bringing two gangs together through music and dance. Beat it received the Grammy Awards for Record of the

Year and Best Male Rock Vocal Performance, as well as two American Music Awards. It was inducted into the Music Video Producers Hall of Fame. Beat has been covered, parodied, and sampled by numerous artists including Pierce the Veil, Fall Out Boy, Pomplamoose, Justin Bieber, Alvin and the Chipmunks, Fergie, John 5, "Weird Al" Yankovic and Eminem. I love the beginning of the song because you don t think that a rock song is following till the guitar starts to play. I think it s a very soft rock song. I also like that Michael sings relatively fast which I think is good for a rock song. Michael really tries to get some of the gravelly voice that many rock songs have, but his voice is just too high and soft. The beat is very catching so it s really easy to dance or sing to it. The guitar solo by Van Halen is my favorite part, it really fits into that song. The lyrics are about somebody who got told that he should beat it and he is arguing with himself if he should fight or run away. He wants to stand his man but he doesn t want to be in danger. I think this is what every boy one thinks. The lyrics are not very special but the rest of the song is very good. It s one of my favorite songs.

Billie Jean: This song is also performed and written by Michael Jackson and produced by Quincy Jones. The song became a worldwide commercial and critical success; it was one of the best-selling singles of 1983 and is one of the best-selling singles worldwide. The song topped both the US and UK charts. In other countries, it topped the charts of Switzerland and reached the top ten in Austria, Italy, New Zealand, Norway and Sweden. "Billie Jean" was certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) in 1989. Rolling Stone magazine placed the song in the 58th spot on its list of The 500 Greatest Songs of All Time. The song got two Grammys, one American Music Award and an induction into the Music Video Producers Hall of Fame. The bass line was played by David Williams, it is again very catchy. One special thing of the song are the vocal hiccups by Michael Jackson, it gives the feeling that he really sang with everything he got. The song was mixed 91 times by audio engineer Bruce Swedien before it was finalized. Again the beginning is very catchy and I like the keyboard. Michael s voice is very smooth. The drums are very soft played, which gives the song not such a heavy sound. I like the hi-hats because they are

played very light. The parts very you hear him breathing really give the song something powerful. It also got some echo that makes the song smoother. It s really hard to explain but the song is very smooth but also very powerful. The lyrics are about Billie Jean, (Billie Jean should describe girls), here a girl that claimed that Michael was the father of her son. Michael doesn t want to accept that and tries to get out of there. He often regrets that he had sex with her. He always got told that he has to be careful and now he has problem. I think the lyrics are very applicable on our time now, because many teens become too early children. So with the song he talked about a big problem. I never thought about the lyrics, now I think this song was very important. Thriller: Thriller is recorded by Michael Jackson, written by Rod Temperton and again produced by Quincy Jones. The song was released on November 12, 1983 in most countries and January 23, 1984 in the US. The song has a Voice-over by Vincent Price. Voice-over is the part where he speaks. The song originally

should be called Starlight. The song has many sound effects like a door, footsteps, thunder, howling dogs and wooden planks. The song reached the top of the charts in France and Belgium and went in many countries in the top 10. The very popular music video is over 14 minutes long a directed by John Landis. The girl who Michael is walking with is actress Ola Ray. The weird thing a music video is when Michael dances with the zombies. The video won three MTV Video Music Awards and was 2009 added to the National Film Registry by the library of Congress, the first music video ever selected. The Instruments in the song are consists of synthesizer, guitar, trumpet, flugelhorn, saxophone, flute and trombone. It took him 8 weeks to record the song. The beginning of the songs starts with somebody coming in to a room. You can hear the door, footsteps, thunder and a dog. The first instrumental starts with a loud clap. The song is getting louder and louder and it feels like something is coming! The dog stays in the background. When Michael starts he tries to make a creepy voice. He sings with much power. Sometimes you hear him two times, so it feels that many persons are singing. The song is again very catchy. At the end Vincent Price starts to talk, it makes the whole song much creepier because of his voice. The laugh at the end is for me the best part ;D The lyrics describe a typical thriller movie. The first two verses, choruses and the bridge you think that it happens real. But then Michael says that it s just a

show and that he will protect his girlfriend. Vincent s part feels like the movie is speaking. I think it s really cool. I like the creepy sound of the song and how Michael tricks you a little bit. I think this song shouldn t have special motto it s just a fun song. I like his powerful voice and how he sings it. I can just recommend this song. Thank you for reading my review I hope you will listen to his album :D
