About us - Prof David Crawford Professor at the University of Essex in Colchester, and Senior Lecturer at Ravensbourne in London, with interests in beyond HD multimedia services and Big Data science projects. He is well-known in the engineering fraternity, and has worked for over 40 years in industry and academia, and has led a number of DVB and ETSI Technical Standards Groups. David lectures on ICT, Transmission Systems and Commercialisation of Intellectual Property, and leads a small Consultancy Company supporting young entrepreneurs and new technologies. David is a Member of SMPTE, the Royal Television Society, a Fellow and Council Board member of the IET, and is the Executive Producer for the annual IBC Conference Technology Sessions. 2
