QLOCKTWO CLASSIC Instructions for use www.qlocktwo.com EN

All in good time QLOCKTWO

Instructions for use Read these instructions fully and carefully before using the QLOCKTWO CLASSIC for the first time. Take note of the information regarding safety, handling and connection in the instructions for use appendix. This document is also available on our website: www.qlocktwo.com/info The packaging contains QLOCKTWO CLASSIC incl. interchangeable QOLOR or stainless steel 450 x 450 mm front cover Instructions for use 2 acrylic glass holders for floor mounting Wall mount (K) Holding screw (J) 2 m USB cable for floor or wall mounting 0.25 m USB cable for wall mounting 5 V USB mains adaptor (H) Mains coupling for wall mounting with a direct mains connection from the wall (I) Microfibre cleaning cloth Drill template for wall mounting Additional items for stainless steel front cover: 2 small plastic platelets for floor mounting Cotton gloves 4

1 5 60 Commissioning and mounting There are two possible ways to mount the QLOCKTWO CLASSIC: Floor mounting Wall mounting Floor mounting Removing the protective film Remove the protective film from the front of the front cover. Start in one corner and slowly peel off the protective film. Do not bend the front cover! Position the two enclosed acrylic glass holders as pictured into the grooves on the left and right at the bottom of the QLOCKTWO CLASSIC. Connecting the power For floor mounting, connect the power via a power socket. To do this, plug the USB connection (G) from the long USB cable supplied, or a coloured textile cable (available as an option), into the USB socket (C), see fig. 3. Connect the other end of the cable to the USB mains adaptor (H) and plug it into a power socket. You may require an adaptor to connect to your country s power socket (see scope of delivery/packaging label). If you are unsure, ask a qualified electrician for advice. The exact time is set automatically, provided the QLOCKTWO CLASSIC receives the European time signal without any interference. The corner points flash until the current time is received in full. You can also set the time manually see section Setting the time. G G C H Fig. 3 6

Wall mounting Finding the correct position To determine the QLOCKTWO CLASSIC's position on the wall, use the drill template supplied, which can also be used as a positioning aid. Read the assembly and safety instructions on the drill template carefully, and familiarise yourself with the details. This document is also available on our website: www.qlocktwo.com/info Connecting the power with a direct mains connection from the wall Have a qualified electrician to connect the power to the mains cable socket (I) supplied. Connect the short USB cable to the USB mains adaptor (H) and plug it into the mains cable socket (I). Plug the small, angled USB connection (G) into the USB socket (C) see fig. 1 and 4. Alternatively, connect the power via a power socket when wall mounting, see page 6 (Connecting the mains using a power socket). You can then hang the QLOCKTWO CLASSIC in the eye (E). Hanging the connected clock in the wall mount requires some skill and is best done with another person. Tip: If there is a cable loop between the wall mount and the body, use a long ruler to push it back. Finally, remove the protective film from the front of the front cover, see page 6 (Removing the protective film). WARNING! If you feel resistance due to a poorly positioned cable, you should never push or turn the clock to the correct position using force, otherwise the USB connection (G) may become bent or damaged. Functions and operation Graphic representation/reading the time Example: 7.18 am Graphic representation Fig. 5 60 5 1 Hour hand Set using button ( 60 ) Text in five-minute intervals Set using button ( 5 ) Every lit-up corner = plus 1 minute Set using button ( 1 ) 8

Setting the time The QLOCKTWO CLASSIC receives the European time signal (DCF) and sets the time automatically. This reception is activated in the factory settings as it is within range in most European countries. If the DCF signal is weak, or there are signal interferences, the QLOCKTWO CLASSIC should be operated in quartz mode, because signal interferences may cause the display to be faulty in certain circumstances. Choosing between radio reception or quartz mode Press and hold buttons ( 5 ) and ( 60 ) at the same time for 3 seconds. If 'ON' is displayed on the front cover in large letters, the radio reception is turned on. The corner points flash until the current time is received in full. If 'OFF' is displayed, the radio reception is turned off and the clock runs on the built-in precision quartz and is set manually. When in quartz mode, the clock deviates by less than 1 minute per year. The setting is saved, even after a power cut. Radio reception Quartz mode In quartz mode, you can manually set the time using the following buttons, which are on the rear side of the clock (see figure 1): ( 60 ) = in hourly increments 1 5 60 ( 5 ) = in 5 minute increments ( 1 ) = in 1 minute increments/the seconds adjust to 0 9

Optional: Changing the time zones for DCF reception The standard setting for QLOCKTWO CLASSIC is Central European Time. If you are receiving the European time signal DCF and you want to operate the QLOCKTWO CLASSIC in a different time zone, or if you want to show a world time, you can change your time zone as follows: Press and hold button ( 1 ) and button ( 5 ) at the same time for approx. 2 seconds. Select your time zone by pressing button ( ) several times. The matrix shows how many hours it differs from Central European time in large numbers. (+0 to +9 and -9 to -1, CET: 0, GMT: -1). Confirm your selection by pressing button ( 60 ). The time zone is permanently saved internally, even if there is a power cut. Setting the brightness The luminous intensity of the LEDs automatically adapts to the surrounding light. You can also manually adjust the brightness. When you press button ( ) several times, it runs through levels of brightness according to the following pattern: Maximum luminous intensity Normal luminous intensity Medium luminous intensity Low luminous intensity Automatic mode (this is where the luminous dots in the corners light up briefly) Seconds mode For the seconds mode, press and hold button ( ) for longer than 3 seconds. The seconds appear as large numbers in the matrix. Pressing any button changes the clock back to the normal mode. 10

Turning IT IS on and off You can turn the introductory words IT IS on and off. To do this, press and hold button ( 60 ) for approx. 3 seconds. These words always appear in the switched-on mode. IT IS only appears at the half and full hour in the purist mode. This mode is turned off in the factory setting. Setting the language/changing the front cover The QLOCKTWO CLASSIC can display the time in several languages. Please remember that you need the correct front cover for each language, but it can be changed quickly and easily without using any tools. Carefully pull the front cover that is held by magnets away from the body. Press button ( ) and button ( 60 ) at the same time for approx. 3 seconds. The language is shown in large letters on the matrix (DE = German, EN = English, etc.). The language changes when you press button ( ) repeatedly. As soon as you see the required language, confirm your choice by pressing button ( 60 ) once. Then accurately fit the front cover with the corresponding language to the body. When handling the stainless steel front cover, you must use the cotton gloves provided in the scope of delivery.
