WMS Reading Challenge Welcome to our reading challenge! Our challenge officially begins on June 6, 2018 and ends on Friday, September 28th. Use the summer to get a head start! All criteria must be met prior in order for you to advance to the next level. This will be a graded assignment. Good luck! Reading Challenge Project Options Directions: You are to make baseball cards highlighting 3 main in a book you have read. Each card will contain an illustration of that character plus information about him/her. Use 3x5 index cards for this project. Example for front of trading card: Front: Picture of character Year (time period in story) Name of character Make a border around the card Back : Physical description of character Age Where he/she is from Hobbies, interest, or talents Remember to use 3 x 5 index cards when completing this project! Directions: Use a 3 x 9 piece of tagboard or other sturdy construction paper. On the front of the bookmark, write the letters of the title down along the left side; then write a word or phrase describing the book that begins with each letter of the title. On the back of the bookmark, write the title, author and a complete summary of the book you read. Example for front: : A book trailer is a video advertisement for a book which uses techniques similar to those of movie trailers to promote books and hook readers into wanting to read the book. You can use videos or pictures/images to create a trailer. Add music or narrate. Be sure to match the mood of the genre to the book. For example, if it is a mystery, the music should be haunting. If the book is funny, the music should be more whimsical. Should be 45 60 seconds in length. Provide a written summary of the book that includes the, setting, and the problem.
