Class Character Analysis Character Types There are different types of characters in fiction. First, a character can either be round or flat. A round character has many dimensions and shows varied and sometimes even contradictory traits. A flat character, on the other hand, shows only one personality trait throughout the selection. Second, a character can be either static, staying the same throughout the piece, or dynamic, showing great change or growth throughout a particular piece.
