NUMUS CONCERTS 2018-2019 Programme new music now

NUMUS is generously supported by: an Ontario government agency un organisme du gouvernement de l Ontario MAIN Established national and international contemporary music. MIX Emerging artists and improvisational music. Graphic design: Julian 2van Mossel-Forrester

From our Artistic Director One of my biggest highlights each year is unveiling NUMUS new season of programming! This year s program has been many years in the making and offers a fuller and more diverse array of musicians, performances, and productions than we ve been able to offer for many years. I am very proud of our role in the community and the fact that our audiences continue to grow and our organization continues to strengthen. Going beyond concert presentation and providing meaningful opportunities for young artists in our community is of the utmost importance for me. We will continue to expand our opportunities for emerging improvisers, curators, and composers giving them the advantages they need to succeed in the professional world of contemporary music making while also offering monetary support. No other organizations in Canada focus on emerging curators and improvisers quite like we do. If you can, I would like you to consider supporting NUMUS this year. This can be done in many different ways from buying a ticket or a subscription to bringing a friend along to a show, sharing or liking our events on social media, or even just telling someone you know about a NUMUS concert you enjoyed. I wish to extend my sincere gratitude for your interest in and support of NUMUS and hope you enjoy our many great shows this season! Kathryn Ladano Artistic Director, NUMUS 3

From our General Manager Welcome to our 2018-2019 season! You will notice that this season has more concerts and is more ambitious than our past several seasons. This didn't happen by accident - we have been working hard to expand and to increase our community involvement. This has also been made possible by you, the NUMUS supporter! Whether it's purchasing a subscription, a single ticket, or contributing to our fundraisers, your support helps us to grow and to present the most incredible new music in Canada. I'm so excited to be a part of NUMUS and this amazing new season. See you there! David Mackay General Manager, NUMUS 4
