PUBLICATION AND CITIATION GUIDE OF THE JOURNAL OF COMMERCIAL AND INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY LAW 1. The Journal of Commercial and Intellectual Property Law (TFM) is an internationally peerreviewed journal published twice a year. 2. Writings primarily in Turkish, yet in any language can be published in the TFM. 3. It is assumed that authors have reviewed their writings submitted to the TFM and therefore accepted their writings to be published as they are. 4. The first review of the writings is conducted by the Editorial Board. Writings, nonconforming with scientific criteria and including misspelling above average, are refused by the Editorial Board. 5. After the Editorial Board s first review, writings are reviewed by at least one referee and at most two referees by removing the author name(s) according to blind peer-review system. a. The writing can be published only if found appropriate by the referee. b. Upon the request of correction in the Referee Report, the author can make amendments only within the scope of this report. The writing can be resent to the same referee for review depending on the Report. In case that this review results in a negative assessment, another peer-review cannot be provided for the writing. c. The writing will not be published if the referee delivers a negative final opinion. In this case, another peer-review cannot be provided for the writing. A "Referee Report" for writings that have not been qualified for publication, is sent by e-mail to the author. Unpublished articles will not be sent back to the author. 6. The title of the writings should consists of no more than 15 words. Each writing should include an abstract of 250 words at most and 3 keywords at least. The title, abstract and keywords should also be written in English. 7. The writings which are submitted to the journal must be unpublished elsewhere. 8. The authors are considered solely liable for any opinions in their writings published in the journal. 9. All writings should be emailed to tfm@ybu.edu.tr. Authors should also send their title, institution, contact address, phone number and e-mail address. 10. Whether the writing is going to be published is determined in accordance with the peerreviewing as a result of the assessment of the Editorial Board. The authors are notified by e-mail. 11. All rights of publication for the writings accepted to be published, including the right to publish full text electronically, belong to Yıldırım Beyazıt University. Authors are assumed to have accept- 1
ed to transfer copyrights such as processing, dissemination and replication rights to the University. The University may use these rights on behalf of any of its faculties, institutions, centres, etc. 12. The authors will not be made any royalty payments for any rights that the author has allowed the University to use for publication. The authors who sent his writing to the journal are assumed to have accepted this. 13. Apart from articles peer-reviewed, the TFM may include book reviews, legislative assessments and informative remarks. 14. The writings, which have not been peer-reviewed in time by the referee, are assessed for the next issue of the journal unless stated otherwise by the author. 15. The writings should be written in Times New Roman as the font type and in 12-font size, in the Microsoft Word program. 16. Titles within the text should be organized as follows: I. Bibliography should be provided at the end of the writings based on the references in an alphabetical order by the surname of the authors. Citations and bibliography should be organized in conformity with the Citation Rules. 18. Official website of our publications is: http://www.tfmdergisi.com CITATION RULES 1. The articles to be published in the TFM should be written according to the Citation Rules detailed below. 2. The articles should be composed by footnote citation. 3. In case that there is no rule in this citation system, the OSCALA (The Oxford University Standard for Citation of Legal Authorities) system should be referred. 4. If necessary to refer to a unique work (like archive documents, etc.), once-preferred method should be used in a consistent way throughout the article. 2

Once referring to a resource for the first time, all details about this resource should be indicated in the citation; while all the following references for this resource should be made with the abbreviation such as author`s surname and the page to be cited. If reference is made to more than one work by the same author, citation should be made thereby also indicating the year as author`s surname (year) and page to be cited in order to distinguish the works in abbreviation. 6. If there is any more information about the resource, the sign "^" refers to the requirement to indicate the relevant information.
