See you there! Concert Flyers for our Concerts are at the end of this Newsletter please print out and help us spread the word Venue Hire - tell everyone! GCYO is the ideal venue for music workshops, concerts or meetings and are keen to build our venue-hire capacity as it enables us to further build the Music Programs we can offer our members. All funds go to programs for GCYO members. This is what GCYO can offer! Building capacity Fully air-conditioned 500 m 2 of space in 3 large rehearsal rooms + 3 smaller tutorial spaces or one large room to seat 400 theatre style; parking 50 + vehicles; loading dock Music equipment Grand piano, upright piano, 2 keyboards, timpani, bass drum, 2 drum kits, full percussion, 100 music stands AV equipment 400cm screen with high-resolution projector; HDMI compatible; powerful ceiling-mounted speakers; lectern and microphones General equipment 400 chairs, 30 tables, kitchen, office, computer, internet, photocopier Catering morning/afternoon tea, lunch, full buffet - we can do all!

Instruments Acquired In addition to funding for Building Improvements, GCYO also received grants for instrument acquisition. To this end, the following new instruments are now assets of the GCYO: Bassoon Bass Clarinet Snare drum Cymbals 2 violas 2 x 1/2 size Double Bass 2 x 3/4 size Double Bass Many small Percussion These assets add substantial value to the GCYO's Service Offering Lyre Notes ~ May 2013 Page 2 of 6 New Kitchen and Carpet Last year the GCYO was successful in Grant Applications and received substantial funding for Building Improvements. These funds must be acquitted for the purpose of asset upgrade, which means we cannot use the funds for other purposes like music purchase, tutorials, operating expenses, reduction in venue hire fee etc. Installing air-conditioning was at the top of our list - successfully completed 28 January 2013. It is a great benefit to all musicians and other users of the building. We are now ready to move into the next phase of improvements... Remaining funds for Building Improvements have been allocated to installing: 1) new kitchen - expected completion end-june (see pics below) 2) new carpet through rehearsal rooms and other - expected completion end- July We expect minimal disruption and thank you for your patience as we undergo these improvements. What's next... The GCYO is continually seeking support for items that will add value to our organisation. Our 'Wish List' is ever-growing and includes items such as: glockenspiel xylophone concert tuba acoustically suitable window coverings solar energy All suggestions welcome No order of importance intended; fluctuating needs, resources and sponsor parameters influence acquisition. We hope these exciting enhancements will pave the way for the next 25 years.
