Biographical / Historical Helen Wright, the daughter of George Ellery Hale's colleague Frederick Wright, was born in The National Academy of Sciences commissioned Wright to pen the work a biography of Hale 1951, and she published the book, entitled Explorer of the Universe, in Six years later, Wright co-authored The Legacy of George Ellery Hale. Related Materials The major collection of related material is the George Ellery Hale Papers, located at Caltech and the Huntington Library and available on the web at hale.archives.caltech.edu. This collection consists of material collected by Helen Wright in the course of writing her 1966 biography of George Ellery Hale, Explorer of the Universe. It includes copies of documents which can also be found in the George Ellery Hale Papers, but also documents from other sources and Wright's transcripts of some handwritten letters, particularly those from Hale to his wife and daughter.
