1 Stash Reports The thrift stores once again were good to me!! I hit my thrift store and Goodwill. I had to wade through LOTS ANS LOTS AND LOTS AND LOTS of polyester and silky fabric to find what I did at the thrift store. I can never say no to plaids and especially not this it s a great neutral color. $2 was the price and 2 1/4 yards was how much was in the bundle. At the thrift store pieces are sometimes unmarked. Those are only 50 cents each. I picked these three. They will mix in with others and be perfect for a neutral. You can see the
2 piece on the bottom is an old VIP Cranston print. It will be just fine. The piece with the red was a half yard cut. The other two were both 1 yard each pieces. Most of the time, Goodwill isn t the best but this time I did find something. I found this. It was $2. I unrolled it once home and measured it. Just over two yards but the best of it it is 60 wide. PERFECT!!! That means I ll likely be able to do a small quilt with it. YAHOO. Definitely worth it. I love getting thrifted fabric. When I shop I never know if there will be fabric or what the fabric will be! If I go to a fabric shop I m mostly guaranteed there will be some version of Moda some of this some of that. It s much more exciting for me to check out the thrift store where else can you get
3 Raggedy Ann being a nurse!! are simple. I m so thankful that my tastes Netflix (NOT): The Killing I told you in a post months ago that I was liking the series The Killing on Netflix. At the time I wrote about it I was about two seasons in. So at the end of July I had binged watching about five episodes while cross stitching over a weekend. I loved the series. It s a cop show with a big murder each season and it takes the whole season to solve the crime. The actors were not all drop dead gorgeous.
4 They were flawed people.i kind of liked that until the last season but there I was, already deep into it. I had to find out what was going to happen. Did this boy kill his parents? others be found out? Would the the hidden crimes of About a week later I finally got back to watching again. I turned on the television and what?? Netflix didn t have the series anymore. AHHH. How could I be left hanging like that? HOW?! I d never know what happened to Sarah. I d
5 never know what happened to Holder. little bit invested into the show. AHH>>> By now I was a So about two weeks ago Kelli was home. I told her all about how disappointed I was that The Killing was taken off of Netflix. I watch it so little that I really wasn t even aware that they add and take off shows on a regular basis. Kelli being the series watching savvy girl knew just what to do. Before long she had purchased the final episode for me. Then a week ago I finally got a chance to watch it.and. BUMMER. I wish I hadn t seen it. I hated how the show ended. HATED IT. The last show ruined much of it for me. UGH. I couldn t believe how they ended it. There wasn t the chemistry there for the ending that came. Ah. Disappointment. Don t you hate that when it happens??? I feel like they had to end if and couldn t think of anything else. So what s a girl to do? I m trying really hard to ignore their ending and write my own in my head. Have you ever done that??? Nope, nope, nope should not have happened.
6 So as far as a recommendation. I suggest watching the series it s good. BUT, skip the last episode!!!!!!!!!!!! Has anyone else watched the series? Did you like the last episode? And with that, I m moving on to something new.and that new series is A Place to Call Home.but it s not on Netflix and a whole story for another day. Here s to Betty Crocker, Charlott and my Hubby! So way back in 1986 I had a bridal shower. At the shower, my cousin Charlott gave me this cook book.it s a Betty Crocker New and Revised Edition with Microwave Recipes. (aren t you so glad they gave up on microwave recipes??)
7 Anyway..that book has been a staple of the Kramer family.baking powder biscuits have been made and made and made using this recipe.
8 But look it s falling apart. Here was my first pizza crust recipe. Note the writing. One
9 day one of our kids were cooking and didn t understand cooking abbreviations. So I wrote T- Tablespoon, t teaspoon and ccup. As an early wife, I loved all the recipes and tried MANY out on Hubby. He was so good and ate most everything.
10 I learned to stretch a family food budget using these been recipes.
11 I livened things up with the desserts.
12 and found a recipe we still love for Oatmeal Cookies. It s wonderful and has been used so often when we re out of white sugar and need a treat.
13 I even went beyond my mom s baking ability and tried meringues.
14 I have so loved this book. It s one of the only things I have left that was a wedding/shower present. Well a couple days ago Hubby came home with this. He was at an auction and found me a new one.
15 Part of me is sad that the lady who owned it never discovered all the great recipes the other part of me it thrilled as mine is in such terrible shape.
16 Yep I ll be making pancakes, French toast and waffles from this book for MANY more years to come. I can t thank Betty Crocker, my cousin Charlott and Hubby for furthering along my cooking. It s been a great 32 years!!
17 Quilt Book Review: Martingale s August Releases I got an with Martingale s newest quilt book releases and I thought I d give you a little preview of them. 18 Over all for me the book is has kind of been done. If you are a beginning quilt or one who decided to dive into charity quilting, I can see that this book would be a good one for you.

20 This looks very much like a Bonnie Hunter pattern in one of her first books.
21 The one that did catch my attention was this one.then the more I looked at it, something seemed off. It s different from a tradition Boston Commons quilt. Notice that at the corners it almost seems like there is a block missing. I can t decided if I like that option or not. What do you think?
