Illinois Rural Water Association is a nonprofit organization of rural water and wastewater systems. They provide training and technical assistance throughout the state. LOCiS is proud to be associated with them. For more info visit Did you know LOCiS has been integrating with American Water for close to 20 years? American Water provides water for various parts of 15 different states. LOCiS collects meter readings, resident information, turn ons/offs and of course shut off information from them for processing in LOCiS utility billing. 2 U/B ADDRESS UTILITY Do you have a management company associated with several utility accounts? Do you ever have to change the address associated with those utility accounts? A utility called U/B Mass Address Change could help! Simply enter the old address and the new address and click Go - the system will quickly change each occurrence of the old address to the new address. This affects Service Address, Owner, Renter and Bill-To. This is another reason why it is important to be consistent when entering addresses in LOCiS.

3 April is Humor Month and Stress Awareness Month. So, why not use humor to relieve stress?!! Consider the phrase, laughter is the best medicine. This phrase is true and you can use humor relieve stress in your life too. Laughter can help to relax muscles, lower blood pressure, and increase the oxygen level in your blood. A thief stuck a pistol in the man s ribs and said, Give me your money. The gentleman, shocked by the sudden attack, said You cannot do this. I am a congressman! The thief replied, In that case, give me MY money! Q: Why did the can crusher quit his job? A: Because it was soda pressing. A Guy urgently needed a few days off work. But he knew the Boss would not allow him to leave. He thought that maybe if he acted Crazy, the Boss would tell him to take a few days off. So, he hung himself upside-down on the ceiling & made funny noises. His coworker asked him what he was doing. He told her that he was pretending to be a light bulb, so that the Boss might think he was Crazy & give him a few days off. A few minutes later the Boss walks in. What are you doing? He told the Boss he was a light bulb. He said, You are clearly stressed out. Go home and recuperate for a couple of days. He jumped down and walked out of the office...when his co-worker followed him, the Boss asked her...and where do you think you re going?! She said, I m going home too. I can t work in the dark!!

5 APRIL 2018 Newsletter GENERAL LEDGER UTILITY BILLING Question: I posted a journal to the wrong date, how would I fix that? Answer: After the journal is posted, you can reverse the journal, and then you must reverse the reversal and then you will change the date at that point. Question: Trying to run UB Trial Balance for just my inactive accounts but I am only getting 3 and I know I have many more? Answer: Change the report only those with balances to less than Question: I have entered my audit adjustments but now the system says my balance sheets are out of balance? Answer: You probably need to roll the date back and rerun GBS. To into GZM and you will see the last GBS date, you need to change it to the month before you need, i.e.: 09/30/14 if you are running October. Save it and then run GBS, this will properly post the audit adjustments and you should be good from there.
