1 REPERTOIRE FOR FULL ORCHESTRA A list of quality works for full orchestra available in Australia Revised 2014 Ralph Hultgren Head Open Conservatorium

2 Regarding the repertoire available: Part of my work at the Queensland Conservatorium is to investigate new music in respect of its relevance to the training of conductors and as performance repertoire at all levels. That information is also utilised in music selection lists by various festivals around Australia. The listing of materials that follows is arranged in the grading commonly used in Australia. For your information, the equivalent grading to the USA levels are: Premier - Grade 4 5 A Grade - Grade 3 4 B Grade - Grade 2 3 C Grade - Grade 1 2 The listing here includes added works that were published over a decade ago, but are unknown to many of today s young orchestra conductors. They are incorporated into the list because little new full orchestra material is produced each year, and a revisiting of the older repertoire is edifying in respect of the selection of current performance materials. The list is a continually evolving one and includes materials that have become more readily available in Australia in the last few years. I would be pleased to discuss repertoire with you.
