Use local control panel to configure communication parameters. Otherwise web based control panel will be inaccessible. Figure 1. Web based control panel. Home page. 7.1 HOME tab HOME tab (see figure 1.) shows information about the status of device and has buttons for main tools. Bit Rate Information table contains bit rate information about all input and output channels. Input channel bit rate is calculated including NULL packets on input channel. Output bit rate shows only a bit rate of selected services, excluding added NULL packets. System Status table shows the status of device. If there are any errors in the system, they will be shown in Errors section. Internal temperature of device is shown in Temperature section. Up time section shows running time since the last switching on of device. The page does not refresh itself automatically to update information of device in real time. It shows only the information, which was valid at the moment, when a page was loaded. Load streams button will load all service information from all connected inputs. It may take up to 30 seconds or more to load information from all channels. A progress bar with detail information about the status of process will be shown. A browser will be redirected to this page again as soon as all scan process will be finished. 5
Note: FireFox browser has too strict security policy, which prevents showing the status of progress in real time. In this case you ll not see the status information and will be redirected to the main page immediately. Equipment will respond only after a scan process will be finished. If the device is currently running, it s output will be disabled at scanning moment and all previously loaded information will be lost 1. When information of inputs has been scanned, it may be reviewed and managed by browsing through the tabs Input 1.. Input 8. All services will be disabled by default. They must be enabled by checking the corresponding checkbox for each service. See section 7.2 for more information. Save & RUN will save all information about selected services into non-volatile memory and start to run. Please ensure, that output bit rate is configured big enough to fit all selected services. See 7.4 section for more information. 7.2 Channel selection tab Input N tabs allows to manage all loaded services. See Figure 2. Figure 2. List of loaded services The 1 st column shows titles of all available services on selected channel. A lock near the title means that a service is scrambled. The 2 nd column shows program identification number and a sum of all streams bit rates 2 of each channel. Bit rate measurement does not run in parallel for all streams. Each stream s bit rate is measured 3 one by one. So in case, if only few seconds passed since the time of loaded streams (or power up), some services may not have this information. Refresh a page after a short time to see bit rates of the rest services. The 3 rd column allows to select services from a channel for remultiplexing. Press enable selected programs button after checking the corresponding checkbox. Information will be updated in memory, but will still not take action on output. It s necessary to press Save & RUN button on HOME tab to save it into non-volatile memory and start running. Each service has many inner parameters, which may be accessed and managed by pressing sign. Section 7.3 has information about it. Reload Channel button above the table allows to rescan the channel. All the rest channels will not be affected. 1 A copy of information will still reside in a non-volatile memory. So if it will not be overwritten by pressing Save & RUN, it still may be loaded by switching the device off and on. 2 It does not include EMM/ECM or any PSI tables. Usually their influence into total bit rate is negligible. 3 An average of bit rate is measured within 100 ms. Real bit rate maybe different. 6
7.3 Inner parameters of services If you are using Terra Link, CMH Master or Internet Explorer, be sure that Internet Explorer settings are correct. See 12.1 section for details. After pressing a, all information associated with a service will be loaded. Figure 3 shows an example. Figure 3. Inner parameters of service The 1 st column shows a type of information. The 2 nd column shows original information of service and a bit rate of each stream. The 3 rd column allows to modify some parameters of service. You can modify service title, service provider name, program ID number and most of stream PIDs. New PID numbers are generated automatically and does not require any further modification. However, a user has possibility to modify it. Any streams, owned by a service, can be enabled or disabled by checking/unchecking the checkbox on the 4 th column. The exception is a stream, which carries PCR information (a video stream in figure 3). Such stream (if any) will always be left enabled. Green triangle allows to control advanced settings of the streem. New selection item will appear after pressing onto the triangle. The type of the stream can be changed there. For example: H.264 video stream can be changed to MPEG2 video. Note: Only a description of this stream will be changed. The content of the stream will not be modified. Press Update Program Information button to submit modified parameters. Note: A service should be enabled itself in the main list of services. Otherwise modifications will not take affect. Figure 4. Cyrillic charset demonstration 7
Software automatically detects a charset of entered text. Figure 4 shows an example with cyrillic charset. Originally a service has a title TF1 with standard Latin charset. We switched a keyboard language to Russian and typed in Cyrillic characters. We received a service which has a title with Cyrillic charset (according to EN a Charset code table ISO/IEC ). Figure 5 shows a screenshot of MPEG-2 stream analyzer with a new Russian title. Figure 5. MPEG2 stream analyzer screenshot The right side of the window shows it. The left side of the window shows all PIDs (streams), which exists in the service. New remapped PIDs can be seen here. For example, original PID 2120 was changed to EMM tables are taken from CAT (Conditional Access Table) and carries information of service decryption. All CAT (Conditional Access Table) information is managed automatically and multiplexed (summed) with all input channels. In case, if selected service does not require conditional access information - related to it streams will be skipped or added/passed. If streams are already descrambled, but still has conditional access information - it can be permanently removed by deselecting all CA streams in service management window (a stream with original PID 1161 in the example above). 7.4 Output tab Output tab allows to manage output parameters. The most important parameter is output stream bit rate. All selected services must fit into it. It s recommended to setup at least 5-10% higher bit rate than selected services actually takes. Date/Time source selection table allows to select the source channel of data and time channel to pass. Only from one active channel this information can be passed to the output. PID No. 20 (TDT, TOT) in the figure 5 shows it. Network Information table allows to add a network title. It will be distributed as NIT with PID number 16. It may be disabled if empty string is submitted NIT configuration Several TS (Transport Streams) can be described in NIT (Network Information Table). At the 1 st stage, transport stream should be added into the list by pressing Add New TS button at Output tab. See figure 6: Figure 6. Stage 1 of NIT 8
Transport Stream ID field must be unique integer value for every TS. Orig. Network ID field should identify network according to ETR 162 [6]. When a new TS has been added into the list, several descriptors can be added to describe the TS. See figure 7. Figure 7. Stage 2 of NIT Select any of listed descriptors and press Insert New Record. New fields for adding information will appear. Many different descriptors can be added into the same TS. A sign will appear to the left of each added descriptor, for example: Pressing onto sign to edit values or remove descriptor from the list. For more information about each type of descriptor see EN standard. After describing all TS, press Save & RUN button at Home tab to take affect and save it to memory. Note: NIT is available from 2.00 software version only. 7.5 Configuration tab Configuration tab allows to setup communication parameters. Terra Bus Parameters table has device and subrack addresses. After changing it, a device will be accessible at another address with Terra Link or CMH Master software. Network Parameters allows to change IP address of device. If this page is loaded via Ethernet, a browser will be redirected to another IP address after changing it. If the page is loaded via Terra Bus - no any redirection will occurs. 8. Ethernet Interface Device has 10/100 Mb Auto-MDIX Ethernet interface. It has ICMP (PING) and TCP/IP/HTTP protocols implemented. Device will respond to direct IP address requests as well as to any Host name, which is resolved to it s IP address. TCP/IP/HTTP protocol implementation allows to use any Internet Web browser available in the industry. For example: Internet Explorer, Opera, FireFox. Web browser will open a control panel described in section Terra Bus Interface This is a common management interface for most of equipments, manufactured by Terra. Device can be accessed via UD100 or UD200 device using Terra Link or CMH Master software. When a device is accessed using this interface, addressed indicator [4] will light on.
