1 RF Semiconductor Test AXRF RF Port Upgrade Kits 2017 Datasheet The most important thing we build is trust Overview AXRF RF Port Upgrade Kits are designed to improve and extend the capability of an existing AXRF The maximum number of RF test ports can be doubled from 8 to 16 enabling a single AXRF to test either multiple devices (multi-site) or more complex devices with a higher number of RF inputs and outputs. The number of occupied slots is reduced by up to 3 thus freeing space to enable tighter integration of additional 3 rd party PXI modules leading to more compact lower cost solutions. Superior RF performance is achieved helping to improve yield. Measurement of harmonics between 6 GHz and 12 GHz 1 The AXRF RF Port Upgrade Kit comprises plug-in modules to replace existing RF port modules (RFM, RFSM & DRPM). Each kit comprises one 3092 RFDM module and one or more 3094 QRPM modules for customer installation. Once fitted, the AXRF remains 100% backwards compatible for use with existing AXRF applications and delivers improved levels of AXRF performance for; port isolation, channel matching and noise floor for greater levels of RF testing capability. 1 AXRF option 10 required, user calibration above 6 GHz

2 Key Features Up to 16 bi-directional RF test ports can be multiplexed between 1 or 2 VSG and 1 VSA instrument in a single 4U PXI chassis RFDM RF Distribution Module The 3092 is a single slot wide RF conditioning module with integrated noise source. This module combines the functionality of the existing RFM and RFSM modules in AXRF in a single module. Two VSG inputs at InA, InB can be combined and then distributed to 4 output ports, Out 1-4. Where a 2 nd VSG is present in the system then this arrangement permits 2 tone intermodulation tests to be performed on multiple test sites simultaneously. An internal noise source can be selected to replace the VSG input at InA. This arrangement enables AXRF to be used to perform noise figure measurements on LNA devices. RF switching is provided to route measure paths, CH1-4 to one of two ports Meas1, Meas2 on which a VSA is connected. The ability to connect a 2 nd VSA is supported.

3 3094 QRPM Quad RF port module The 3094 is a single slot module RF conditioning module featuring four RF Test Ports each with a wideband dual directional coupler. This arrangement enables 2 port S parameter and vector signal analysis measurements to be performed. The design enables simultaneous RF output on two ports 1 & 3, 1 & 4, 2 & 3 or 2 & 4. Independent RF level control on both outputs enables paths to be balanced. This arrangement is design to speed up multi-site PA power servo loop operations. AXRF performance improvements with the upgrade kit fitted RF output range is increased to 15 dbm RF input sensitivity to <-151 dbm/hz for small signal measurement Return loss at the RF test port is improved to >18 db for improved scalar and noise figure measurement accuracy Port to Port isolation is improved to >80 db for improved scalar measurement accuracy Measurement functions S11, S12, S22, S21 Modulation Quality o EVM, RCE, Rho, phase/amplitude error, skew, gain imbalance, carrier leak Spectral emissions o ACPR, modulation spectrum, OBW, SEM P1dB, IP2, IP3 Noise Figure, Gain, Isolation Power Added Efficiency (PAE) Frequency error Rise/fall time

4 Configurations Four kits are available (4, 8, 12 and 16 RF ports). Four RF test ports are provided for each 3094 fitted. RF link cables supplied with each kit provide interconnection between modules connects directly to the existing VSG(s) and VSA in the AXRF. There are two RF link connections between each 3094 and the Typical module configuration and cable connections for a 16 RF port upgrade

5 Specifications All specifications are defined with the retrofit kit installed in a AXRF fitted with option 9 or 10 and 11 or 12 following system warm up time of 30 mins and operating at an ambient temperature of +23 +/- 5 degrees C and within 90 days of a user runtime calibration using AutoCal accessory unit (AXRF-ACAL-8), fan speed set to high. Specifications are met using AXRF driver software version or later.
