1 L I B R A R Y SAMPLE ENTRIES FOR APA-STYLE REFERENCES PAGE A Reference List cites works that specifically support your paper. The references are placed in alphabetical order by authors last name. Each item is indented five spaces for each line after the first one. Entries are double-spaced. The In-Text citation identifies the source so that the reader may locate the full information in the Reference List. All Reference List items must be cited in the text. Always give page numbers for quotations and, if used, cite specific chapters. (Spitz, 2006, p.60) BOOKS Important elements: author, date (use n.d. when no publication date is available), title, edition (if stated), place of publication, publisher. Book with one author Spitz, E. (2006). The brightening glance: imagination and childhood. New York: Pantheon Books. In-text citation: (Spitz, 2006) Book with group author In the following example the association is both author and publisher. American Psychiatric Association. (1994).
