Area community members will also be joining them. Come and enjoy this relaxing, enjoyable evening of live music and food! Admission is free and is open to the public. Special thanks to the Estherville Student Senate for helping sponsor this event.! Iowa Lakes Community College Handbell Choir will present a free concert for area residents on Sunday, May 1, at 7:00 p.m. The public is invited to attend the performance to be held at the First Presbyterian Church, 3501 Hill Avenue, in Spirit Lake. The Iowa Lakes Community College Handbell Choir is an ensemble which performs on a five-octave range, from C3 to C8, of Schulmerich handbells. The bells are made of bronze and range in weight from four ounces to 10 pounds. The Choir also supplements handbells with a five-octave set of handchimes. Many different handbell techniques, from the singing bowl to gyro effect, are on display in a program that covers a wide variety of music. Free will donations are accepted toward the purchase of new bass handchimes.
