2 Going on a Trip What You Need: No supplies are needed. What You Do: Have children line up single file behind you. Lead them around the room, telling them you are going on a trip and that they should do the movements you do. Some examples of movements you could lead them in doing include stomping, jumping, skipping, crawling, walking straight legged, hopping on one foot, and pretending to fly like airplanes. Be creative and add your own movements too. What You Say: Let's take a pretend trip! I love going on trips! There are so many different ways you can get from one place to another. How about if we stomp on our trip? (Stomp.) Awesome job! Now let s jump! (Jump.) Wonderful! Can you skip? (Skip.) Great! Now let s crawl on our trip. (Crawl.) Perfect! How about if we walk with stiff legs? (Walk straight legged.) Amazing! Let's hop on one foot! (Hop.) Fantastic! Now lets fly! (Pretend to be airplanes.) Fabulous! What a wonderful trip, but I am tired from our trip. Our story today was about someone who was going on a trip. Do you remember who it was?
