5 1. THE ACCOMODATION Our vacation home is a premium brand wooden house. It is located in a private cul- de- sac at the edge of the village but is yet only a few minutes walking distance from the Oberammergau town center. Over 140 sqm of superior living space provide ample room for up to six guests and ensure a comfortable and relaxed vacation in Oberammergau. Our vacation home was officially certified a Four Star vacation home on July 25th, Our vacation home was designed to be the perfect getaway for families or friends who want to spend their vacation together in our beautiful alpine countryside. Our vacation home is a non- smoking facility. 1.1 THE VACATION HOME The ground floor combines kitchen, dining room and living room into one large space to allow our guests to participate and enjoy indoor activities together. The top level features three bedrooms with king size beds. Our large master bedroom is joined by a private contemporary and spacious en- suite bathroom. The other two bedrooms share a second, also very modern and stylish bathroom. All beds utilize high quality mattresses and bedspread. Sleeping well is one key ingredient for a relaxing vacation. All bedrooms and bathrooms are on the top floor. Our generously equipped kitchen provides you with everything you need to prepare a lovely meal. All rooms in our vacation home are fitted with modern premium furniture. FERIENHAUS SIEBER Rev /20

6 1.2 AMENITIES Our living room offers a large comfortable couch with seating for six and is equipped wit a woodstove (firewood will be provided during winter time) and a contemporary cozy wall heating system for the cold season. A large HD Flatscreen TV with satellite receiver, a comfortable Stereo system with CD, DVD, Radio or ipod/iphone connectivity ensure for pleasant entertainment. A small selection of movies, various books and board games for adults and children are also provided. The dining room has a large dining table with seating for six. A baby chair is also available. Our very modern, spacious and generously equipped kitchen offers dishes, tableware, pots and everything else you need to do your cooking. The electrical stove with glass cooktop and oven, the refrigerator, the dishwasher, the microwave, the coffee maker and toaster are all quality brand appliances. Cooking utensils, spices, coffee filters, detergent, etc are always available in the house. The two modern bathrooms on the second floor have floor heating, towel heaters and walk in showers. There is another guest toilet on the ground floor. The beds in our three tasteful bedrooms have comfortable bedspread with three different pillows for every bed. 7 1.3 GARDEN AND TERRACES We have put special attention also on our garden. We have used only natural flagstone and cobble and our two terraces are made of fine chestnut wood. They are located on the south- and west side of the house, invite guests to bask in the sun and award you with a wonderful panoramic view of the mountains surrounding Oberammergau. Our large lot with 500sqm of land is closed in with local brush and provides abundant space for playing or just sitting outside. Comfortable garden chairs, modern garden tables and deck chairs and sunshades ensure a pleasant outside experience. 2. TECHNICAL INFORMATION 2.1 HEATING AND UTILITY ROOM Our vacation home is equipped with an ecological central heating system, a combination of a high efficiency gas boiler and thermal solar heating. The ground floor features a modern wall heating system. The radiator valves are located on the right side behind the sofa in the living room and in the corner by the little terrace in the dining room area. The bathrooms on the second floor are equipped with under floor heating. The radiator valves can be found under the washbasins right by the doors. For faster reaction time, the bedrooms have been equipped with normal radiators. Temperature can be controlled with the radiator valves directly on the radiators. We kindly ask our guest to refrain from tampering with the heating system, the various valves and levers or any of the heating equipment in the utility room. Should, for whatever reasons, the FERIENHAUS SIEBER Rev /20

8 heating system not work please notify us immediately. If you are traveling with children please ensure, also for their own safety, that the utility room is always locked. Playing is not allowed in this room. When locked, the key to the utility room can be placed on the little hook on the top right side of the door next to the heating emergency switch. 2.2 TELEVISION AND SAT RECEIVER Turn the Sony Flatscreen TV on and off with the green button on the Sony remote control. Use the volume control on the Sony remote to control speaker volume. Use the little round button below the blue button on the remote to select HDMI channel 1 for TV reception from the SAT receiver or select HDMI channel 2 to watch DVDs with the Pioneer stereo system. The integrated receiver of the TV is not being used in our installation. To turn the HD+ Sat Receiver on and off use the Power button on the Sat Receiver remote control. The selection of the satellite channels is done using the channel selector buttons. Press the o.k. / LISTE button in the center of the remote to display a list of available channels. The users manuals for all devices are located in the drawers of the HiFi center. 2.3 STEREO SYSTEM Turn the Pioneer Stereo System on and off using the Pioneer remote control. The Stereo System features CD, DVD, Radio and ipod/iphone play modes. Use the remote control to select your desired mode. Use the remote control volume control buttons to adjust loudness. 9 2.4 INTERNET We offer free of charge wireless Internet access for our guests in all rooms. If you are bringing a laptop computer select the Ferienhaus Sieber network in your network settings. You will receive the WPA password from the owner upon your arrival. Please note that you are responsible for using the Internet and the websites you are visiting. The owner will not accept any responsibility for the content, for any transactions or anything else you do using the Internet in our vacation home. Please refer to 6 of your rental contract or to the attached Provisions for the usage of the Internet over WLAN document. 2.5 TELEPHONE A telephone is not included in your vacation home rental. We assume that our guests carry mobile phones and that they use those for their private telephone calls. For emergency situations however, we have a telephone in the house. It is located inside the electrical cabinet in the utility room. This telephone allows you to make emergency calls for all standard emergency numbers (110 and 112) as well as calls to the owner (08822 / ), and in general calls with the area code (mostly Oberammergau). We kindly ask our guests to use this telephone only in case of emergency. 2.6 WASHING MACHINE AND DRYER Washing machine and dryer are located in the utility room. User manuals are located in the shelf above the appliances. Ironing board and iron are also available for you in the utility room. FERIENHAUS SIEBER Rev /20

10 3. OBERAMMERGAU AND SURROUNDINGS Oberammergau offers a variety of local attractions, such as the Passionplay Theater, the House of Pilatus or the Passion Museum. From Oberammergau you can reach the Ettal Monastery and the Linderhof Palace (King Ludwig s hunting lodge) by car or by bus in just a few minutes. Garmisch- Partenkirchen, venue of the 1936 Winter Olympics, offers a large selection of shops and restaurants, but also attractions such as Germany s highest mountain, the Zugspitze, the Partnachklamm gorge or the Höllentalklamm gorge and a multitude of summer or winter sports and outdoor activities. You can reach Garmisch by car or bus in about 20 minutes from Oberammergau. Cable car service is available to many of the surrounding mountain scenery. You can reach the Pilgrimage Church of Wies (Wieskirche) by car in about 25 minutes. King Ludwig s Royal Castles Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau can be reached in about 40 minutes. Cristal clear mountain lakes, such as the Plansee or the Walchensee can be reached by car in 20 minutes or 45 minutes respectively. Other day trip destinations are Murnau am Staffelsee (20 minutes), Kloster Benediktbeuren (about 30 minutes) or Bad Tölz (about 40 minutes). From Oberammergau you can reach Munich in about 1 hour using the A96 motorway. The historic city of Augsburg can be reached by car in about 70 minutes. By route of Garmisch, Mittenwald and Seefeld you can reach Innsbruck, the capital city of Austrian federal state of Tyrol in about 1 hour. Oberammergau and it s surrounding pre- alpine scenery offers countless hiking- and mountain biking trails with plenty of rustic Bavarian mountain lodges on your way, where you can stop, rest and enjoy typical Bavarian food and beer. 12 3.2 LEISURE ACTIVITIES The Ammergau Alps offer a large variety of leisure activities. You can go for a swim in a mountain lake (i.e. Plansee or Walchensee), hike, cycle or mountain bike one of our many trails, you can go for cross country or downhill skiing in winter, go on snowshoe hikes or go for any other activities. Almost everything is available and we hope something for everyone. You can visit our public pool (Wellenberg), the summer alpine coaster at the Kolben or in Unterammergau, you can hike mountain lodges at the Altherrenweg, the Hörnle, the Kolbensattelhütte and many other places. They also offer training and lessons for many sports activities. 13 3.3 RESTAURANTS Whether traditional Bavarian, Mediterranean, Italian, Mexican, Chinese or German - Oberammergau has more than 40 restaurants to offer. Here is a small selection of restaurants we would recommend: - Ammergauer Maxbräu Our favorite place. You have to taste the own brewed beer (Helles). - s Wirtshaus This is also a very good restaurant with great food. They also offer some very nice Asian dishes. - El Puente Mexican specialities, Hamburgers und Cocktails. - Wankalm A good place for pizzas, salads and pasta dishes. - Alte Post und Zum Stern A typical Bavarian style restaurant with all the traditional dishes like Schweinebraten, Sauerkraut, etc - Ming s Wok Chinese and Thai cuisine, a great place for takeout. Outside of Oberammergau: Forsthaus Unternogg in Altenau, Schleifmühle or Dorfwirt in Unterammergau. 14 3.4 SHOPPING AND PUBLIC LOCATIONS The most important first: the closest bakery (Bäckerei Auerhammer) is just down the street at Schnitzlergasse 11. This is only three minutes walking distance from our house. Follow the Daisenbergerstrasse and just keep going straight ahead. You will find the bakery on your left. There is also a very nice cheese shop across the street from the bakery. On Sundays the bakery in the Tengelmann market is open from 7:00 to 10:00 am and in summer also the Bäckerei Brandmeier in the St. Martin Strasse. In the area around the train station and bus terminal you can find larger shopping markets (Tengelmann, Lidl, Netto and V- Markt). Here you can find anything you need. There are also two beverage stores in that area. These shopping markets are usually open Monday through Saturday from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm. If you prefer the smaller local shops then Oberammergau offers two very good butcher s shops, a nice fruit and vegetables shop, a total of three bakeries, Heidi s organic food, a cheese shop and some other specialized shops. Tourist shops, fashion, shoes, souvenirs and more can all be found along the Dorfstraße, the main shopping road of Oberammergau. The smaller shops have individual opening hours, some close over noon and most are closed after 6:00 pm. ATM machines are available in our local banks, the Kreissparkasse or the Hypo Vereinsbank in the Dorfstrasse or the Raiffeisenbank in the Bahnhofsstraße. There are two Pharmacies in Oberammergau. The easiest one to find is the Stern Apotheke in the Dorfstraße. 3.5 TOWN MAP OF OBERAMMERGAU A town map of Oberammergau with a list of all streets, public parking and other public locations is attached. 15 4. KÖNIGSCARD As a special service for our guests we provide the Königscard at no extra cost for you. The Königscard offers a wealth of attractions and benefits, which you can use at no extra charge during your stay in our vacation home. These are for example the use of local bus routes, many mountain cable cars, the swimming pool and many other attractions. A full list of the Königscard services can be found in the Erlebnisführer zur Königscard located in the brochures basket in the living room shelf or you can also get information from the tourist office. Further information is obviously also available at the Königscard website under 5. GENERAL AND OTHER INFORMATION - In case of a minor accident, there is a first aid kit located in the closet above the coat rail in the hall. Should you have to use something from that kit please let us know so that we can replenish it for our next guests. - There is a general quiet period at noon from 12:30 pm through 2:00 pm. We kindly ask you to refrain from making loud noise during that time. - In case you break something or in case of some other damage, please let us know so we can have it fixed or replaced immediately. - The local town visitor tax is 1,80 per day and person. You don t have to worry about that. We have paid the tax for you at the tourist office. FERIENHAUS SIEBER Rev /20

16 5.1 TRASH AND WASTE Under the kitchen sink you have three small trash containers. Please separate trash into - paper und cardboard (to be put in blue trash can) - plastic, aluminum, tin, cans (to be put in brown trash can) - everything else (to be put in gray trash can) - glass and bottles (into the orange plastic box) The trash cans are located in the lockable storage room under the carport. 5.2 LOCKABLE STORAGE ROOM The lockable storage room under the carport is available for you to lock away your bicycles, skis, toys or anything else you need to safely stow away during your stay. The key to this locker room is with the entrance door key you receive at arrival. 5.3 PARKING Our vacation home offers parking for two cars. One parking space is under the carport the other right by the entrance door, under the kitchen window. Please use that for the smaller car if you are traveling with two cars. 18 6. BEFORE YOUR DEPARTURE We hope you are having a very pleasant stay in our vacation home. Please plan to leave the house on your departure day by 10:00 am. We usually have new guests arriving on that same day and need the time to prepare the house for their arrival. We make every effort to have the house in top class and spotless condition when you arrive. We expect our guests to treat our house sensibly and be careful to maintain it in good condition. Please keep the house clean and avoid any damage. Please also leave all equipment and accessories in the house (including tableware). We are sure you understand that we have to charge you for damaged or missing items. Please notify us of any damages before you leave. A full inventory/inspection is conducted before arrival of our next guests. Final cleaning is included in your rental rate. If you are cleaning during your stay, there is detergent, a vacuum cleaner and other cleaning utensils available in the utility room for you. Please pay attention to the short check list before you leave: - please leave your Königscards on the kitchen table - place all unwashed dishes into the dishwasher - empty the refrigerator and freezer compartment - empty the kitchen trash bins into the trash cans in the storage room If you enjoyed your vacation in our vacation home we would be very happy to enter your positive feedback into our guest book.
