3 Dear Friends, We are excitedly anticipating this event and are looking forward in hosting you at our beautiful Croatian Franciscan Center in Norval, ON for a Friday night welcome dance and for the festival Mass. We proudly showcase our parish church Queen of Peace, as it is a centerpiece of our community. Other festival events will take place in nearby Milton and Mississauga. In this package you will find all the information related to the 44. Canadian-Croatian Folklore Festival. Please note that groups are required to present authentic Croatian Folklore. Please list your performance, in detail, and indicate your preferred performance date. 8 Group Picture and Write Up Due date: January 15, 2018 Each year a commemorative souvenir book is created which serves as a permanent keepsake and record of the festival. Every participating group must provide a group photo which will be included in the Festival souvenir book. The picture should be high-resolutions and preferably in JPG or PDF format. For best results please use standard ratio size and a minimum of 1 MB file size. Along with the photo, we ask that you please submit a write up or summary of your group (Croatian and/or English maximum 300 words). Please submit this information by the indicated date to Ana Bačić at edu.direct@yahoo.ca. 9 Advertising Opportunities This annual celebration of Croatian folklore traditions brings together many hundreds of children, youth and families of Croatian descent from Canada and USA. Every year this event grows in size and scope and continues to contribute to Canadian multicultural mosaic as we showcase our rich culture. A commemorative program book is printed for this event and our sponsors adds are printed in this book. This book is distributed to the participants of this festival and members of our parish. 11 Important Reminders: To be consistent and true to the Festival objectives and spirit, only authentic Croatian folklore songs and dances are permitted at the festival performance. Groups that do not adhere to this rule may be subject to a fine by the Canadian-Croatian Folklore Federation. We ask that your group stays within the time limit of 12 minutes for your performance, which includes both the entrance and exit to the stage. Groups that do not adhere to this requirement will be fined $500. We ask that each group designate a member of their organization to watch over their personal belongings during the performance. HKUD Kralj Zvonimir, Canadian-Croatian Folklore Federation and Mattamy Theatre are not responsible for lost or damaged items. Each group will be provided a liaison for the duration of the concert festival. This individual will be available to answer any questions the group may have and keep the group well informed of all aspects of the Festival weekend. This individual will guide the group to their change room and lead the group to the stage. All performers should be at Mattamy Theatre 1 hour prior to start of the concert. All performers are to be at Mass on Sunday in their costume. We ask that you choose a representative for your group who will receive the plaque in honour of your group s participation. The plaques will be presented during the banquet on Saturday evening. We ask that each group provides us with a song to which they would like to receive the plaque. All ticket, souvenir book and DVD orders will be deemed final only when payment is received by HKUD Kralj Zvonimir. All ticket orders must be received and paid for no later than April 14, HKUD Kralj Zvonimir and/or the Croatian Folklore Federation of Canada will not be liable, under ANY circumstances for any direct, indirect, or incidental or special loss or other damage arising from any manner out of the use of any hotel or performance facilities.
