Instructor of Tuba and Euphonium Studies Duties: See above Courses Taught Applied Tuba and Euphonium Lessons Weekly primary and secondary private lessons for undergraduate and graduate tuba and euphonium players majoring in music business, music education, music performance, music technology and music therapy. All music majors receive private lessons for four years, culminating in a senior recital. Tuba-Euphonium Studio Weekly master class-style meeting for studio members. Various concepts such as sound production, vibrato, critical listening and practice techniques are discussed. Tuba-Euphonium Ensemble Chamber music component required for all students in the tuba-euphonium studio. The ensemble meets twice weekly to rehearse for events each semester. Brass Class Brass methods component for all wind, percussion and string music education majors. Students are instructed on concepts and techniques involved in the instruction of a beginning brass class. 1
2 Instrumental Methods Brass methods component for all music education majors with voice emphasis. This course is team taught by three instructors, one each for woodwinds, brass and strings. The brass portion of the course lasts five weeks. Elementary Music Theory Introductory music theory course which serves three areas; remedial course for in music business, music education, music performance, music technology and music therapy; sole theory component for musical theater majors; or an elective music course for students not majoring in music. Music Appreciation Fine arts elective for students not majoring in music or another fine art emphasis. This course is an historical examination of world music.
