Precision Turned Parts Telegärtner Gerätebau manufactures precision turned parts of the highest quality. These include form turned pieces with diameters from 10 mm to 65 mm; straight turned parts with diameters from 6 mm to 26 mm; parts made from brass, aluminium, steel, stainless steel, and other materials. Our extensive knowledge in postprocessing techniques such as grinding and milling, galvanic surface treatment as well as heat treatment round off our service offerings. We offer everything from development (hardware and software) based on customer specifications, to technical consultation and prototype testing and acceptance by the TÜV (the leading technical approval institution in Germany), up to production in small and large series. 6 Cat. 6 De-embedded testing What s behind all this? With over 50 years experience in Radio Frequency Technology, Telegärtner is equipped to develop components in its own laboratories in compliance with international test regulations, such as the current de-embedding test procedure. The aim of this test procedure, as mentioned in the IEC and TIA/EIA 568B standards, is to render NEXT and FEXT measurements for components retraceable. Comparability of the RJ45 plug and connecting cable required for the measurement is equally essential as the calibration of the test equipment itself. The electrical parameters of the test plug and the test procedure itself are clearly and unmistakenly defined in the standards. Any RJ45 connector which complies to standard may be used, in order for it to be qualified. The principle of the de-embedding procedure is that a reference jack is used when testing the plug. First of all, a reference plug with resistors is assembled and tested on its own. After removal of the resistors, the reference connector is tested with a reference jack with resistors. The values measured are then reduced by a complicated subtraction process to show the values of the reference jack only. The plug under test is then measured together with the reference jack. The readings for the reference jack are subtracted from the total value measured. The remaining figure shows the phase relation and NEXT, alternatively FEXT value of the connector under test.
