2 Description: AV10E-QAM (Stock No. 6360) AV10E-QAM (AV Encoder - QAM) accepts & auto-detects up to ten (10) inputs in NTSC baseband Audio/Video format, digitize s & MPEG-2 encodes each into a standard-definition stream (SD 480i), and multiplexes the resulting ten (10) streams into one (1) output in QAM format in the MHz range (CATV sub-band channels T7-T14 and standard channels 2-135). Two front-panel ancillary output interfaces are available: one (1) in ASI format one in DVI format - for real-time and simultaneous preview of all the ten multiplexed input programs. 7 Monitoring and Control - Status Screen The Status screen: Read-only ; indicates the MPEG-2 encoded condition of each of the 10 inputs. [1] GOP (Group Of Pictures) specifies the order in which intra-frames & and inter-frames are arranged. Each MPEG-coded video stream consists of successive GOPs. From the MPEG pictures contained in it the visible frames are generated. A GOP can contain the following picture types: I-picture or I-frame (intra coded picture) P-picture or P-frame (predictive coded picture) B-picture or B-frame (bidirectionally predictive coded picture) Slide # 8

These are parameters necessary to comply with the requirements of the MPEG-2 Transport Stream as defined in ATSC documents A/65C and A/69. It is not recommended to change the Factory Default values.
