8 Commercial Administrative Settings Commercial administrative settings are used to configure the TV for easy programming in long term care and other commercial environments. Settings are configured in the Administration Menu. Once the first TV is setup as desired, these settings can be quickly mirrored on other TVs. This reduces set-up time, channel scanning and prevents users from accidentally changing settings or making confusing alternations. After the first TV is auto-programmed for the channels offered and the settings as desired, other TVs can be cloned. Accessing the commercial settings: On the remote control press Input You will have 3 seconds to begin setting changes before the commercial display will disappear. If this occurs, repeat the process. Use the Up/Down arrows to scroll down and highlight the various Administrative Functions. Admin Mode: Arrow Right or Left to turn the commercial settings ON or OFF. Start Channel: Assigns a particular channel as the default channel to appear whenever the TV is powered on. A practical use might be for an On-Screen TV Guide, or a Community Information Channel. After the TV powers on, the user can always change channels in normal fashion. However, if it is preferable to leave the TV tuned to the last channel viewed, the Commercial Administrative Settings should be set to off and unused. By default, if the Commercial Settings menu if activated for the TV, a default channel will be turned on with the default as Channel 2. 19 USB Operations Music, Photos, Settings, and Now Playing. The picture below shows the TV's menu for pictures or music files on a USB. Now playing shows the controls for playing audio files on your USB. Choose photos to enter the photo menu. If there are pictures on your USB, you can play a slideshow with the TV. The picture below shows the menu for navigating through folders on your USB. Press up or down to select the folder or file desired. Push "ENTER" to view information and/ or open the file. 18

20 Using the USB Therapy Card USB Photo storage & MP3 playback This television has a wonderful feature for easily displaying a photo slide show along with the viewer s favorite music. This feature is ideal for those with memory issues or anyone who simply likes to look at photos of their children, grandchildren, family members, vacation photos or any subject of interest. While the photo slide show is being shown, stored music files will play in the background. The optional Therapy Slideshow USB card is a handy way to store and replay the slideshow. The optional Therapy Slideshow card is preloaded with 32 nature photos and 3 songs for demonstration purposes. Using any personal computer, these demo files may be deleted and replaced with.jpgs and.mp3 music files of your choice. NOTE: Cards sold separately How the TV remote control and Therapy Slideshow work together: SHOW button This will start the Therapy Slideshow by playing whatever.jpg photos and.mp3 music files are in the root of the USB Therapy Card. This is the easiest method for users to access photos and music. If you wish to keep it super simple for the user, this is all that is needed. PHOTOS button This brings up the folders on the USB Therapy Card containing photos. The folders can be opened to select individual images or shown in sequence. MUSIC button This brings up the folders on the USB Therapy Card containing music. The folders can be opened to select individual songs or played in sequence. Adding personalized content Step 1: Plug the USB card into your computer. Step 2: Remove the demo photos from the default SHOW Remove the existing demo photos and music stored on the USB Therapy Card. These are not located in any file folder and are just stored on the root of the USB Therapy Card. If you wish to save these for future viewing, create a folder and move the photos to that folder. If you do not wish to save these, simply delete them. Step 3: Add your own photos Copy your own family photos directly onto the USB drive. The order they will be shown on the TV will be in the same order they are copied onto the USB Therapy Card. There is no limit to the number of photos that may be shown up to the 4GB memory capacity. Step 4: Add your loved one s favorite music. This music will play automatically along with the default photo show. Select four or five songs that are favorites. Any.mp3 file can be used. Simply copy these music files onto the USB Therapy Card and do not place in any file folder. NOTE: Pressing "OK+1" "OK+2" will switch the remote control to TV1 - TV2. This is mainly used in scenarios where there are multiple TV's in the same room to prevent the remote from controlling all of them. Advanced Viewing Options For those individuals desiring more content and who are able to navigate and select file folders, additional file folders may be created on the USB Therapy Card. Simply create the file folders, name them accordingly and copy your photos or music into the file folders. 19

21 Troubleshooting The TV can t be turned on. Make sure the AC cord is plugged in. Check the wall outlet; make sure the AC output works normally and stably. The side panel may be locked (disabled). Use the remote control to turn on the TV. Select the Front Panel Lock function in the PARENTAL Menu and press ENTER to uncheck the locking status. There is no picture or sound but the TV is on and there is a No Signal sign on the screen. Are you trying to use an input source with no device connected to it? For using other video/audio devices, make sure the external device works normally first, then press INPUT and choose the right input source. The Signal Type option may be set incorrectly. Go to page 16 for detailed instructions. The channel may be blank. Try to search the channel again or change another channel. The sound is fine, but the picture is poor. If you can only get black and white pictures from the external device a poor connection may be the cause. Check the connection for correctness. For AV input, the yellow video cable connects to the yellow Video in jack on the side of your TV. For Component input, the three Y, Pb, Pr video cables (red, blue, and green) should connect to the corresponding input jacks on the side of your TV. Check the antenna connections. Make sure all of the cables are firmly connected to the TV jack on side of your TV. Try adjusting the color features to improve picture quality. There is no sound, but the picture is fine. The sound might be muted. Try pressing the MUTE button to restore sound. For using AV or Component, remember to connect the device s left and right audio output correctly. The left channel cable is white and the right channel cable is red. Match the cables and jacks according to their colors. The sound settings may not be set correctly. Go to page 10 for more information. If your audio source has only one jack or is a (mono) audio source, make sure you have plugged the connection into the Audio in L jack (white) on the TV. The buttons on the TV case do not work. The side panel may be locked (disabled). Use the remote control to turn on the TV. Select the Front Panel Lock function in the PARENTAL Menu and press ENTER to uncheck the locking status. Unplug the TV from the AC power for 10 minutes and then plug is back. Turn the TV on and try again. The TV turns off unexpectedly. The electronic protection circuit may have activated because of a power surge. Wait 30 seconds and then turn the TV on again. If this happens frequently, the voltage from the outlet may be abnormal. If the other electronic equipment does not work normally, consult qualified service personnel. Can t select a certain channel. The channel may be blocked or not approved in the PARENTAL Menu. The channel may be skipped in channel list in CHANNEL Menu. Check the blocking and skipping status of channel. The channel has been added to your cable system after your auto scan. The stereo sound performance is bad. It may be a weak station. Use the SOUND Menu and select Analog Sound as Mono. A black box appears on the screen. Closed captioning might be on. Check Closed Caption in the SETUP menu. Go to page 30 for more instructions. Problems with the HDMI Connection. Make sure the HDMI device (DVD, cable box, etc.) is turned on and the cables are firmly connected. If problems still occur, turn off your device and reconnect it. Reset the power by unplugging the power cord and plugging it in again. If a No Signal message appears on screen, the HDMI device isn t responding. Contact the manufacturer of the HDMI device for further assistance. If you have black bars on each side of your picture (which means the TV cannot display a full-screen image), the device you connected might have a switch or a menu option allowing you to change the picture quality output that will fix this. Choose either 720p or 1080i. If the picture is standard definition digital or analog in 4:3 format, you will need to zoom the picture. The Remote Control doesn t work. Something might be blocking between the remote control and the remote sensor on the front panel of the TV. Make sure there is a clear path. The batteries in the remote may be weak, dead, or installed incorrectly. Put new batteries in the remote. You are experiencing problems with V-Chip/Parental Controls. If the rating limits don t work, you must lock the settings. Go to the main Menu (press MENU on your remote), select PARENTAL to check the settings. 20
