8 1 About version 1.61 If updating from earlier than Ver1.60, update to Ver1.60 once, then update to Ver1.61 again. 1.1 New functions and changed functions Modification of the URI dialing specification The operation specification related to URI dialing was modified as follows. [Problem from Ver.1.60] Image may not be displayed when the PC connection method to DVI-I 2 (PC) is switched The image is not displayed when a PC image is input as a digital signal to the DVI-I2 (PC) IN terminal after an analog signal was input previously. This problem was corrected. It may take some time to actually display an image after switching to digital connection. [Problem from Ver.1.01] The Microsoft PowerPoint image from the PC connected to DVI-I 2 (PC) may not be displayed The PC screen of the Microsoft PowerPoint input to the DVI-I 2 (PC) IN terminal may not be displayed correctly. This problem was corrected. [Problem from Ver.1.01] It may not boot correctly when RGB-HDMI convertor is connected to DVI-I 2 (PC) It may not boot correctly when an RGB-HDMI convertor is connected to DVI-I 2 (PC). 10 1.3.5 Connection to the third remote point may not complete (only PCS-XG77) Connection may not complete when PCS-XG77 with HD MCU software PCSA-MCG106 installed and without HD upgrade software PCSA-RXG77 installed is used as the parent terminal, and made a call to connect to the third remote point (second connection). This problem was corrected. [Problem from Ver.1.41] Access to the Web page may not be possible when some symbols are used in a password Access to the Web page may not be possible if a password is entered when symbol "" (double quotation), $ (dollar sign), or ` (back quote) is used to register the Administrator Password, Phone Book Modification Password, Save Settings Password, or Remote Access Password. [Problem from Ver.1.10] It becomes full screen display even it is set to split screen display When attempting and cancelling to establish a cascade connection from the parent terminal, and then establishing multi-point connection that is not cascaded, it becomes full screen display even if it is set to split screen display. 12 2 About version 1.60 Please be careful about uppercase and lowercase letters of the file name being used for update. 2.1 New functions Addition of the Total Bandwidth (PCS-XG77 only) With PCS-XG77, 5Mbps can now be selected if the PCSA-MCG106 HD MCU Software and PCSA-RXG77 HD Upgrade Software are installed Addition of the Initialize Setup menu Initialize Setup is added to the Administrator setup menus. 13 when Input Mode in the Audio setup menu was set to Stereo Addition of Far/Near to function buttons F2 to F4 The switching function between Far/Near, which could be assigned only to the F1 button, can now be assigned to the F2 to F4 buttons. 2.3 Deleted functions Deletion of the streaming function In response to the termination of QuickTime Windows version by Apple, the streaming function using QuickTime was deleted. 2.4 Corrected problems A message incorrectly displayed while the DVI-I 2 (PC) video signal is detected A message saying "Local system does not support the resolution of the input DVI-I2 signal. Check the resolution of your computer." was incorrectly displayed regardless of the situation where the PC video signal input to the DVI-I 2 (PC) IN terminal was being detected. This problem was corrected. [Problem from Ver. 1.01] Defective display on the 2nd monitor screen while dual monitor is used When using dual monitor, there were problems that the correct video was not displayed on the 2nd monitor screen as follows. Normally, the local camera image should be displayed on the 2nd monitor while no H.239 video is being sent. However, the PC image may be displayed if the cable connected to the DVI-I 2 (PC) IN terminal is disconnected and then connected. Normally, the transmitted H.239 video should be displayed on the 2nd monitor while the H.239 video is being transmitted. However, the local camera image may be displayed if the video signal input to the CAMERA terminal is switched. Normally, the received H.239 video should be displayed on the 2nd monitor while the H.239 video is being received. However, the local camera image or the local PC image may be displayed if the cable connected to the DVI-I 2 (PC) IN terminal is disconnected and then connected. 14 2.4.3 Rebooting being repeated The unit repeatedly rebooted while the progress bar was displayed when the power was turned on. This problem was corrected. [Problem from Ver. 1.01] H.239 video transmission time During the point-to-point connection or multipoint connection, it may take time for the H.239 video to be displayed when the following models send it. This problem was corrected. Applicable models: PCS-XG80/XA80/XG55/XA55/XL55/G60 [Problem from Ver ] The DVI-I 2 (PC) input video being overlapped on the monitor display video The PC image input to the DVI-I 2 (PC) IN may be displayed overlapped on the image displayed on the monitor screen gradually from the bottom of the screen, and eventually the unit may reboot. This problem was corrected. This phenomenon occurs when the refresh rate of the input PC video is set to 85Hz or 75Hz, and the resolution of the video is set to the one other than 16:9 aspect ratios. Also, this problem occurs either during a conference or not during a conference. [Problem from Ver. 1.01] No terminal name being displayed on the 1st monitor while the H.239 video is being sent When dual monitor is used, the connected terminal names were not displayed on the 1st monitor while the H.239 video was being sent. This problem was corrected. [Problem from Ver. 1.01] Remote camera control disabled during point-to-point connection after multipoint connection The remote camera control may be disabled if point-to-point connection was established after multipoint connection. 15 3 About version Please be careful about uppercase and lowercase letters of the file name being used for update. 3.1 Security improvement Some security measures are added Disable ssh login without password (Important) To enhance the security, ssh login without password for external control is disabled. Note 1: No password is set in the default setting. After this version or later software is installed, ssh login is not available in the default setting. When ssh connection is used for external control, please set password for ssh before this version or later software is installed. Note 2: By restoring to the default settings, password will be deleted. If this version or later software is installed and the setting is restored to the default, please set password for ssh again. There are no changes regarding web page access and telnet access for external control. 3.2 Corrected problems Resume from standby issue of PCSA-CXG100 When PCSA-CXG100 is used, there was a problem that the camera was not recognized, it didn t output video image or its ptzf operation was not available. This problem has been corrected. [Problem from Ver1.50] [Corrected in Ver ] Sony Corporation 15

16 4 About version 1.50 If updating from earlier than Ver1.42, update to Ver1.42 once, then update to Ver1.50 again. 4.1 New functions USB audio device A USB audio device (speaker/microphone) can be connected to the USB port. However, there is currently no commercially available USB audio device that the operation performance quality is guaranteed. Caution: The echo canceller function of this device is disabled when a USB audio device is connected Denial of incoming call from unidentified IP A setting for Reject unknown call is added to the Answer setting menu. The call from the remote terminal not in the phone book or the private phone book will be denied without displaying the confirmation dialog when this is set to On. The shared phone book is not searched. The default is Off. Denied terminal can be confirmed in Unknown Call of the History menu Displaying of frame indicating the audio detection point for multi-point connection A setting for Voice Activation Frame is added to the Multipoint setting menu. An orange frame is displayed around the video where the audio is detected when this is On. The default is On Addition of the address book A selection of add or replace is added when Load Phone Book in the Service menu is performed. The previous phone book is erased when replacement is selected. The new phone book is added to the previous phone book when addition is selected. However, the maximum entry of the phone book is 1000, so it cannot be added exceeding that Connection of the terminals both under NAT The terminals both under NAT could not be connected properly when the NAT function was enabled. It is now possible to connect the terminals both under NAT Sony Corporation 16

17 by automatically disabling the NAT function with this version. However, it is necessary for the remote terminal to support this function Support of new annotation tablets The following tablets are now supported. WACOM CTH-490 WACOM CTL Support of AAC-LD The audio codec AAC-LD is now supported. Specification: Selected only when connected to a specific third party with H.323. It is automatically selected when MPEG4 is enabled as the audio format, and AAC-LC and AAC-LD cannot be individually selected. AAC-LC and AAC-LD are not displayed separately in the Communication Mode Status screen. It is not selected when MCU mode is activated Support of H.263 for camera video channel with H.320 H.263 is added on the camera video channel codec mode for H.320 connection. Caution: H.263 is not enabled for H.320 even if the version is updated from the previous version. Place a checkmark in H.263 in the video mode in the communication mode menu to enable Support of LETTER service command The LETTER service command is now supported. The whole image of the 16:9 video without any cropping is sent to the remote terminal that can only receive the H.264 CIF size by reducing the video to the 4:3 video size when this is in the service command. The sides of the 16:9 video is cropped and sent as 4:3 video when this is not in the service command. To enable this command, system restart is required after entering the service command. 4.2 Improved functions Sony Corporation 17

18 4.2.1 Saving the screen layout It is changed to operate in the previous screen layout when the device is restored after choosing Standby with the remote controller, or when restarted after choosing Power Off with the remote controller. [Problem from Ver1.01] [Improved in Ver1.50] Service command of changing H.239 sending image quality at low rate H.323 connection The text in presentations becomes clear by entering the H239QD service command when H.239 is sent in the connection under 512 Kbps. [Problem from Ver1.01] [Improved in Ver1.50] Addition of the referrer check ON/OFF menu The On/Off menu for the referrer check is added to the WEB menu. The access may become possible when this is turned off when WEB access is not possible in a specific environment. Caution: Use in the environment where the network security is secure when the referrer checked is turned off. [Problem from Ver1.01] [Improved in Ver1.50] Misalignment of audio and video when recording/streaming Misalignment may occur between the audio and video of the recording/streaming when a new terminal is added or the participating terminal is disconnected in the multi-point connection after executing the recording or streaming. An improvement was made so this misalignment is reduced. [Problem from Ver1.42] [Improved in Ver1.50] 4.3 Corrected problems Camera image when H.239 is sent to or received from other conference devices There was a problem that the sending camera image stops or the receiving camera image is not displayed correctly when the H.239 function is used with PCS-EP or third party devices. This problem has been corrected. [Problem from Ver1.01] [Corrected in Ver1.50] Sony Corporation 18

19 4.3.2 Improvement of the received H.239 image quality The image was displayed blurred by the image not correctly decoded when H.239 in H.263 format is received from Polycom HDX7000. This is now correctly decoded and displayed. [Problem from Ver1.01] [Corrected in Ver1.50] The GUI operation was not possible The GUI became not operable in the following cases. When the TOOLS button on the remote controller is pressed in the wizard screen When the TOOLS button on the remote controller is pressed in the More Options setting screen for the Detailed Dial. When the conference is finished if Last Number Registration is On. This problem has been fixed. [Problem from Ver1.01] [Corrected in Ver1.50] Displaying of PPPoE Admission Failed PPPoE Admission Failed was wrongly displayed when the password for Administrator 1 was set under the environment using PPPoE. This problem has been fixed. [Problem from Ver1.01] [Corrected in Ver1.50] Operation with some of the HDMI monitor The following cases have occurred when the device was used connected to some of the HDMI. The monitor does not start The audio is not output from the monitor The video is not correctly output on the monitor This problem has been fixed. [Problem from Ver1.01] [Corrected in Ver1.50] H.239 transmission during an encrypted conference among 9 points The presentation function did not work correctly during an encrypted conference among 9 points. [Problem from Ver ] [Improved in Ver1.42] 5.3 Corrected problems Displaying black video Black video was displayed on the connection with some other vendor equipment. This problem has been fixed. (The problem was confirmed and the fix has been confirmed on Cisco MCU 5300 series) [Problem from Ver1.41] [Fixed in Ver1.42] Displaying block noise video When the presentation was started, block noise video was displayed on the connection with some other vendor equipment. This problem has been fixed. (The problem was confirmed and the fix has been confirmed on Cisco MCU 5300 series) [Problem from Ver1.01] [Fixed in Ver1.42] Interfering with GUI operation after disconnection by unmatched encryption mode When new terminal which encryption mode was set to Encrypt priority would join to non-encrypted connection, the new connection was rejected by unmatched encryption mode. After that, GUI operation at terminals of existing non-encrypted connection was interfered by high CPU load. This problem has been fixed. Sony Corporation 20

22 6 About version 1.41 The details are described in this Release Note. 6.1 New functions Addition of ISDN connection Using with ISDN interface unit, PCSA-B768S/PCSA-B384S, conferences over ISDN have been supported. Note) Unlike the previous models, Individual connection status of ISDN line is not indicated on the screen in the connecting progress status dialog during connecting ISDN. A connecting status dialog similar to IP connection is displayed. Note) Limitations of ISDN connections are described in the separate section titled Restrictions of ISDN connections Support of MCU option for PCS-XG77 Installation of MCU option PCSA-MCG106 is now available for PCS-XG77.By this option, the 6-site MCU function on PCS-XG77 becomes available. PCS-MCG109 is not supported. Cascade of PCS-XG100 and PCS-XG77, and cascade of two PCS-XG77 are supported Addition of AUTO option into Forward Error Correction (FEC) setting PCS-XC1 supports wireless LAN connections. In wireless environment, using Forward Error Correction (FEC) is recommended. Although this version of PCS-XG100/XG77 does not support wireless LAN connections, it can recognize that the remote terminal is using wireless LAN. The AUTO option has been added into Forward Error Correction (FEC) setting to enable it in this case. By adding the AUTO option, the mode of FEC is automatically selected as follows: Either terminals is FEC OFF FEC off All terminals are FEC ON FEC on Mix of ON and FEC AUTO FEC on All terminals are wired LAN and FEC AUTO FEC off Mix of wired LAN and wireless LAN and all terminals are FEC AUTO FEC on Default value of this version is AUTO. However, even after SW version up being done to this version, in case that the PCS-XG100/XG77 has been used with old SW version, FEC setting is inherited from previous value; ON or OFF. 23 In this case, after updating the software, please change FEC setting to AUTO manually or execute clearing setup through GUI. 6.2 Improved functions Support of new Russian time zone Russian time zone changes as of October 26, 2014 have been implemented. In setting Time Zone of Clock Set, some names of time zone and some values of UTC offset have been changed. [Improved in Ver1.41] 6.3 Corrected problems H.239 function with PCS-RS (recording server) Depending on the combination of PC s output screen size and DVI-I Monitor Output Format, the connection with PCS-RS was terminated and no H.239 video was recorded. This problem has been fixed. [Problem from Ver ] [Corrected in Ver1.41] Upload the setting file with small size from Web I/F Uploading the setting file of 16K bytes or less makes illegal configuration. 24 7 About version The details are described in this Release Note 7.1 New functions Addition of microphone sound collection range/sound quality setting function to match the environment It is possible to set 3 modes matching the environment in use. The following setting is recommended for the distance between a monitor (loudspeaker) and the microphone with the Adaptive Voice Pickup and Sound parameter. Close and Natural: More than 1.5 meters Balance: More than 2.5 meters Wide and Clear: More than 4.0 meters Addition of function to confirm the Gatekeeper registration status with WebI/F The Gatekeeper registration status can now be confirmed with the information in the WebI/F Addition of the Gatekeeper registration authentication function An authentication function by a login name and password when registering to the Gatekeeper is added. 7.2 Improved functions Improvement of the echo canceller function A sound quality under muffled or noisy environment is improved, so it will automatically follow the delay amount of the loudspeaker. [Improved in Ver ] Improvement of symptom that the presentation picture is displayed small in the reception screen The aspect ratio of the image size of the screen that is input to DVI-I2 (PC) of PCS-XG100/XG77 sending presentation data*1), communication picture size between the terminals*2), and monitor display image size of the terminal receiving the presentation data were displayed small for the received picture for the following cases. 25 Case 1) *1) 16:9 *2) 4:3 *3) 16:9 Case 2) *1) 4:3 *2) 16:9 *3) 4:3 This symptom is avoided by automatically changing the communication picture size between the terminals*2) for the corresponding cases. Black regions at the 4 edges of the picture source may be added when the picture of the PCS is input depending on the setting on the PC outputting image to DVI-12 (PC) of PCS-XG100/XG77. To avoid this, a setting of PC input size fixing mode was added to the image setting. The input size from the PC can be fixed to XGA when this mode is enabled. *) Model the operation was confirmed VAIO VPCZ21ADZ, VPCSB2ADZ(SPEED/STAMINA), SVP1321ADZBI, VPCZ13ADZ(SPEED/STAMINA), SVD1121AJ DELL OptiPlex 7010, Latitude E5530 non-vpro [Problem from Ver1.01] [Improved in Ver ] Changed the displaying of the PCSA-CXG100 model name The model name was displayed as EVI-H100V in the connection status of Peripheral Status when the PCSA-CXG100 camera was connected. This is changed so it will display PCSA-CXG100. [Problem from Ver1.01] [Improved in Ver1.40] Changed the display of Wide-D to WDR (View-DR) The display of Wide-D in Detailed Setting in the Camera menu was changed to WDR (View-DR). [Problem from Ver1.01] [Improved in Ver ] Improvement of symbol character input method The following 4 points were improved with the character input method for symbols. Input of numbers in ALPHA mode is now possible. Selection is started from the same type of characters (upper case, lower case, number) for the character type that the selection is confirmed during the ALPHA mode. The operation of the F2 key is now common in the NUM mode and the ALPHA mode. Input of., #, is now possible with the # key. Sony Corporation 25

This behavior sometimes caused operation troubles at the receiving sites. This problem occurred when the presentation data was in H.264 and the negotiated video size was XGA.
