1 Annexure A TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS This annexure is a detailed list of the staffing and equipment that must be provided and professionally operated by the Sound Engineering Service Provider at every concert for the entire contract period of five seasons. Service Providers are required to enter Quantity, Brand Name, Series and the Model of all equipment being supplied but no pricing details must be included in this document. Where applicable the number of staff being provided must be entered but no pricing details must be included in this document (Inserted into the envelope marked Copies ). Including pricing in this document will lead to your bid being disqualified! Section A: Front of House (FOH) Public Address (PA) Speaker System 1. Main Speaker Cabinets: A minimum of 16 x Dual 12inch or 15inch Three Way Active Linearray speaker cabinets (8 or more per side) with rigging frames, motors, chain-hoists and safety cables to suspend speakers from two towers. The Service Provider must supply all necessary amplifiers (if not self-powered), cabling and power distribution for the system. 2. Sub-Bass Speaker Cabinets: A minimum of 8 x Dual 18inch active Sub-Bass Speakers (4 or more per side) of the same brand and series as the Main Speakers with amplifiers (if not self-powered), cabling, power distribution and mounting platforms. 3. Front Fill Speaker Cabinets: A minimum of 4 x 12inch Two-Way speakers with amplifiers (if not self-powered), cabling and power distribution. 4. Loudspeaker Management system: For the control of Main, Front Fill and Delay Speaker systems. Acceptable Brands are limited to: JBL, Meyersound, Nexo, D&B, L-Acoustics. FOH PA System: Loudspeaker Management System Please note: Speaker Cabinets must be flown by the Service Provider on two pre-installed 10m high towers on either side of the stage. The Sub-Bass Speaker Cabinets must be stacked below the Main Speaker Towers on platforms supplied by the Service Provider. 3 Section B: FOH Delay PA Speaker System 1. Delay Speaker Cabinets: A minimum of 3 x Dual 8inch (or larger) Three Way Active Linearray Speaker Cabinets per speaker tower (Minimum total of 9 Speaker Cabinets) with rigging frames, motors, chain-hoists and safety cabling to suspend speakers from three preinstalled Delay Speaker Towers. The Service Provider must supply all necessary amplifiers (if not self-powered), cabling and power distribution. Please note that the Service Provider will be expected to supply and install all power, speaker and signal cabling through existing underground sleeves. Acceptable Brands are limited to: JBL, Meyersound, Nexo, D&B, L-Acoustics. FOH Delay and Main Speaker Cabinets should be of the same Brand. 1. FOH Delay PA System: Speaker Cabinets Please note: Delay Speaker Cabinets must be flown by the Service Provider from three preinstalled 8m high towers approximately 60 meters from the stage. The speakers may remain in position for each concert season and may be covered at the discretion of the Service Provide Specs for Tender Kirstenbosch Summer Sunset Concerts Page 3 of 11

4 Section C: Stage Monitor Speakers and In-ear Monitor system 1. Stage Monitor Speaker Cabinets: A Minimum of 8 x 15 inch Two-Way Monitor Speaker Cabinets and 4 x 15inch Sub-bass Speaker Cabinets with 8 or 12inch Mid-high Speaker Cabinets per stack. (Capable of 12 x Separate Monitor Sends) The Service Provider must supply all necessary amplifiers, cabling and power distribution for the Stage Monitor System. 2. Stage Monitor Wireless Stereo In-ear Systems: A minimum of four units must be provided. Acceptable Brands are limited to: JBL, Meyersound, Nexo, D&B, L-Acoustics, Shure, Sennheiser. 1. 5 Section D: FOH and Stage Monitoring Mixing Consoles 1. FOH Mixing Console: 1x minimum 48 input, 16 out-put Digital Mixing Console with all onboard processing, input/output racks and signal splitting system. 2. Stage Monitor Mixing Console: 1X minimum 48 in-put, 24 out-put Digital Mixing Console with all on-board processing, input/output racks and signal splitting system. 3. Talk-back system: Talk-back system with powered speakers and microphones for communication between the Front of House and Stage Monitor Engineers. Acceptable Brand and Model range is limited to: Soundcraft Vi6/3000, Yamaha CL5/PM5, Digico SD8/9/10/5/7, Avid Venue Profile/S6L, MIDAS Pro6/9/X. 1. FOH Mixing Console, Input/ Output racks and Signal Splitting system 2. Stage Monitor Mixing Console, Input/ Output racks and Signal Splitting system 3. Talkback System Please note: The Service Provider will be expected to supply all necessary digital and or analogue signal cabling to connect the system installed into the existing underground sleeves. 6 Section E: Microphones, Stands and Cables Cabled and Wireless Microphones with Stands, Stage Multi-core cabling and signal cables: The Service Provider must price for the equipment required per concert as indicated below. Acceptable Brands for microphones include: Shure, Sennheiser, AKG, Audix, Audio Technica, BSS, Radial, Neumann, DPA. Set of Microphones, Stands and Cables 30 Section F: Backline Music Instruments The Service Provider must price for the set of equipment required per concert as indicated below and must include all necessary stands and cables. 1 x Professional 5-piece Drum-kit with cymbals and stands 1 x Professional Bass Guitar Amplifier with Cabinet 2 x Professional Guitar Amplifiers with Cabinets 1 x Professional Synthesizer keyboard 1 x Professional Piano keyboard Acceptable Brands/Models are DW Drums, Yamaha Maple Drums, Yamaha Motif XS/F keyboards, Roland keyboards, Ampeg Bass amplifiers, Aguilar Bass amplifiers, Fender Valve Guitar amplifiers, Marshall Valve Guitar amplifiers, Mesa Boogie Valve Guitar amplifiers, LP Percussion. 7 Section G: Summer Sunset Concerts - Crew Members Summer Sunset Concerts - Crew Members Qty. Designation 1 Senior FOH Sound Engineer/Project Manager with a minimum of ten years experience. 1 Senior Stage Monitor Sound Engineer 1 Backline Technician 2 Stage Hands Setup/Strike Crew (As many as required to rig/de-rig) Indicate proposed number of Setup/Strike Crew Members. Please Note: It is important that the same FOH Sound Engineer/ Project Manager be allocated for every concert for a season. 8 Section H: New Year s Eve (NYE) Concert - Lighting Professional Lighting System for the NYE Concert with items in the table below. The lighting fixtures can be suspended from the existing roof structure. The spread load is limited to 500kg on each of the two trussing beams. Please allow for trussing stands on stage to facilitate additional placement of lighting fixtures. Acceptable brands are limited to: Avolites, GrandMA, Martin, Robe, ETC, Strand, ZERO88, VariLite, Clay Paky, JEM. NYE Concert - Lighting Qty. Description 1 Professional Lighting Control Console 12 LED or Standard Moving Head Wash light fixture 12 LED or Standard Moving Head Beam light fixture 12 LED or Standard Moving Head Profile Spot light fixture 12 PAR64 Lights for front lighting of stage 6 8-cel Crowd Blinder light 1 18 channel Dimmer Pack 6 Metal Halide lighting fixtures for lighting trees 2 Smoke/Haze Machines 1 Structures/Stands for on-stage rigging positions 1 Power Distribution and signal splitting system for above Brand Name and Model Please note: The Service provider is responsible for supplying and operating the necessary scaffolding and/or access equipment to facilitate the rigging of the above equipment. 9 Section I: NYE Concert - Audio Visual (AV) Screens Projection Screens: 6m x 3,4m trussing projection screens with motors, chain hoists and safety cables suspended from the existing mounting points and masts either side of the stage. HD Projectors: High Definition (HD) Projectors - minimum Ansi-lumin HD with appropriate lenses and Fibre Optic cable and Connectors (100metres each) HD Cameras: Video Cameras with tripods and all necessary signal cabling, platforms and stands. Go-Pro Cameras: Gopro Cameras with clamps/stands and all necessary signal cabling. Vision Mixer: HD Vision Mixer and Laptop Computer capable of mixing Camera and Data signals Communication System: (Headsets and Belt-packs) with cabling to facilitate communication between Audio Visual Engineer, Front of House Engineer and Camera Operators. (4x Remote Stations and 1 x Master Station) Acceptable brands are limited to: Barco, Christie, Sanyo, Panasonic, Sony, Analog Way, RolandAV, GoPro, Draper, Screenworks, AVStumpfl NYE Concert - Audio Visual (AV) Screens Qty. Description 2 6m x 3,4m Trussing Projection Screens with rigging 2 Large Format HD Projectors (minimum Ansi-lumin) with platforms and stands 2 HD Cameras with Tripods 2 Go-pro Cameras with clamps 1 HD Vision Mixer and laptop computer 1 Communication System (4 x Remote Stations, 1 x Master Station) Brand Name and Model Please note: The two AV Screens must be flown by the Service Provider from pre-installed 8m high towers on either side of the stage. 10 Section J: NYE Concert - Onstage Light Emitting Diode (LED) Screen 1 X 18 Square Meter LED Screen with a minimum 16mm or better Pixel Pitch - capable of making one screen or being split into several sections. Also include all rigging and support structures for the screen to be placed on stage. If used as one central screen, the base of the screen must be at least 750mm off the ground. Acceptable Brands include: ROE, Lighthouse, Barco, Martin, Lamp, VuePix, RGB Link, Novastar. NYE Concert - Onstage LED Screen Qty. Description 1 18 Square meter LED Screen (Minimum 16mm) with rigging and support structures 1 Signal Processor 1 Power Distribution and signal splitting system for above Brand Name and Model Section K: NYE Concert - Crew Members. NYE Concert - Crew Members Qty. per day Designation 1 Senior FOH Sound Engineer/Project Manager with a minimum of ten years experience. 1 Senior Stage Monitor Sound Engineer 1 Backline Technician 2 Stage Hands 1 Audio Visual Engineer for Camera and Data mixing 1 Lighting Operator/Designer 2 Camera Operators 1 LED Screen Technician Setup/Strike Crew per day (As many as required to rig/de-rig) Indicate proposed number of Setup/Strike Crew Members. Please Note: It is advisable to budget two days for Crew Members and for all Equipment for the New Year s Eve Concert. This will allow for an extra day for concert build-up.
