GENERAL WARNINGS AND INFORMATION Before you purchase your own hardware or commence the installation, please pay close attention to the following important points Always prioritize installing the Wexer OnDemand kiosk outside the studio. A Wexer OnDemand kiosk mounted inside a studio severely limits the amount of member interaction that is crucial for a successful virtual experience A Wexer installation performed by one of our preferred installation partners have many advantages. Consider the following 1 o Complete installation by experienced professionals o Hassle free exchange of any faulty hardware within the warranty period o Full support of entire installation within the warranty period o Favorable leasing options o Transparent pricing; no sudden surprises Always liaise with Wexer prior to installation to determine that the desired hardware will be compatible with the system. The following brands are recommended by Wexer for use in installations o Projectors we recommend using laser projectors (must feature RS-232 capabilities 5000 ANSI lumens are recommended) NEC Sony Epson Hitachi BenQ (special settings needed. Please liaise with Wexer Tech Support prior to installation) o o TV-screens/video-walls (must be industry grade screens not consumer products) Philips Samsung LG Projection screens EuroScreens GrandView Optoma We strongly recommend using Cat 6a cabling throughout the installation IMPORTANT! When using the DVI-D output on the Wexer OnDemand unit, we advise that you always use a high-quality, Dual-Link DVI cable up to 15 meters. If distance exceeds 15 meters, we strongly recommend a HDBaseT extender kit or similar quality method of image cable extension. 1 Circumstances might vary between countries. Please contact your Wexer sales representative for a detailed description of local agreements 2

All technical support requests submitted via direct phone call within business hours is initially free of charge unless the support request pertains to any piece of hardware that is not recommended or approved by Wexer as described above. 3

SYSTEM FUNDAMENTALS A Wexer system consists of a Wexer OnDemand kiosk which is placed outside the studio (fig. 1). This kiosk is connected to a display unit 2 and to a sound system. Available classes can be selected via the touch interface and will play in the studio. To conserve power usage and for practical measures, the Wexer system can operate and automate most attached video equipment, either via RS-232 communication or via a switching relay (purchased separately). This means that the display unit in the studio can be powered down when not in use and the motorized screen 3 can be retracted to allow access to mirrors or similar. *Fig. 1 The Wexer kiosk is placed outside the studio to draw attention and ease interaction. Inside the studio is a class being projected on a screen EQUIPMENT OVERVIEW Wexer OnDemand kiosk (touch panel computer with Windows Embedded OS) o Player wall mount Display unit o Projector and motorized projection screen OR o Projector and fixed-frame projection screen OR o LED TV screen OR o LED TV video wall o Mount for display unit OPTIONAL EQUIPMENT Wexer sound system (purchased separately United States only) Stand for the player (used when wall mounting is not possible) Switching relay box (for advanced simultaneous operation of blinds, lights, fans, etc. Ask your Wexer sales representative for more information) 2 For example, a projector, TV or video-wall 3 A motorized projection screen is often installed in relation with a projector. It is most commonly operated by a 5-12V signal from the Wexer Player 4

OUTLETS AND CONDUIT Prior to installation, it is of key importance to establish power outlets and conduit for the following (fig. 4 next page) Wexer OnDemand Kiosk. We recommend using a recessed AC outlet to save space for the cord and plug - fig. 2 Projector or LED screen Motorized projector screen - if applicable. Outlet should be placed on the left-hand side, preferably behind the left speaker Relay box if applicable Speakers if active or part of the Wexer sound system (United States only) Due to the limited length of supplied AC cords, make sure to establish the power outlets as close to the equipment as possible. An Ethernet outlet providing Internet access should be established as close to the Wexer kiosk as possible. Alternatively, an Ethernet cable drawn from another network socket nearby could be prepared for Internet access. Fig. 2 recessed (clock) AC outlet Conduit is used for audio-, image- and RS-232 automation cables. Conduit tube with a diameter of 5 cm (2 ) should be sufficient to accommodate most cables, but please consider this with each install. PLACEMENT OF THE WEXER ONDEMAND KIOSK The kiosk should be mounted outside the studio, as close to the studio door as possible. Experience shows that it attracts attention, can bring new members into the studio, members can easily browse the system and it simply looks good. The player can be placed on any type of wall, except for glass walls. We recommend an installation height between 1.6 1.7 meters/5 feet to the top of the player 4 (fig. 3). If your studio has glass walls only, it is possible to purchase a stand. Ask your Wexer sales representative for more information. Fig. 3 Ideal positioning of the Wexer Player 4 For installations within the United States, construction may require ADA (American Disabilities Act) compliance. If so, please mount accordingly; 1.22 meters/4 feet to the top of the player 5

Fig. 4 Example of outlets and conduits (this and more examples can be found in full size on page 14 and onward) - Outlet and conduit behind the OnDemand kiosk (illustrated as mounted outside of studio) - Outlet and conduit behind each speaker. The motorized screen is supplied from the outlet behind left speaker - Outlet and conduit near the projector in or above the ceiling 6

PLACEMENT OF VIDEO EQUIPMENT We recommend placing the projection screen/tv on the wall from which instructor-led classes are taught. The minimum distance from the floor to the bottom of the projection screen is recommended to be 1 meter/3.25 foot (fig. 5). Fig. 5 Ideal positioning of the projection screen The projector is ideally placed in the same height as the top of the screen (fig. 6). If the projector is placed higher, most projectors can correct keystone distortion by +/- 20% for perfect image adjustment to the screen. The projection distance is very important as the projected image must fit the screen edges nicely (fig. 7). Fig. 6 Ideal positioning of the projector Distance charts for projectors sourced as part of a Wexer projector package can be found appended to the back of this guide, but we strongly recommend to always refer to manufacturer documentation to determine the correct distance. Manufacturers own documentation is often supplied along with the projectors original packaging. It is also possible to use the distance calculator on www.projectorcentral.com. This tool has proven to be accurate compared to a manufacturer's own documentation. To obtain a goodlooking result, make sure to adjust the projector for the image to fit the screen perfectly (fig. 7). Fig. 7 Correct projector distance along with zoom, focus and keystone settings will ensure a perfect fitting and good looking image 7

Common measurements to consider during installation A Floor to top of kiosk: 160 cm/5 feet (ADA regulations may apply within the United States) B Floor to bottom of screen: Minimum 100 cm/3 feet. Installations with large scale video-walls would not adhere to this due to the immersive experience C Projector lens to projection screen: Should always be determined by using the manufacturers documentation regarding throw distances. Alternatively, use the distance chart in the back of this guide or use the calculator on www.projectorcentral.com D Center of screen to center of speaker: Use this measurement to determine the best position of outlets and conduits for the speakers and projection screen 8
