The last date to meet the requirements is 31 December 2018. Version 2 was republished in May 2016 to include reverse transition arrangements to ensure that learners would not be disadvantaged. Version 2 of this qualification has been republished to extend the last date of enrolment on programmes from 31 December 2013 to 31 December 2016, also to extend the last date for assessment from 31 December 2015 to 31 December 2018. Transition Arrangements This national qualification has been replaced by the New Zealand Certificate in Binding and Finishing (Level 3) [Ref: 1816]. The last date for entry into programmes leading to the replaced qualification is 31 December 2016. NZQF NQ Ref 1171 Version 2 Page 2 of 8 National Certificate in Printing (Binding and Finishing) (Level 3) with strands in Print Finishing Sheet-fed, Print finishing Reel-fed, Folder Operator, Guillotine Operator, Hand Bookbinding, and Machine Bookbinding Level 3 Credits 41-79 Purpose This national certificate is designed for trainees who are employed in the binding and finishing sector of the printing industry and builds on the skills gained in the National Certificate in Printing (Binding and Finishing: Print Finishing) (Level 2) [Ref: 0059]. Strands are included in this qualification to provide training options for print finishing trainees and to provide flexibility within the different print finishing companies. The core compulsory knowledge and skills for all strands include routine maintenance, and imposition schemes. Holders of this certificate who have met the requirements for the print finishing sheet-fed and print finishing reel-fed strands may go on to complete the National Certificate in Printing (Binding and Finishing) (Level 4) with strands in Print Finishing Sheet-fed and Print Finishing Reel-fed [Ref: 1172]. This qualification has been designed to be undertaken by trainees on-job, supported by distance education studies. Replacement Information This qualification has been reviewed and replaced by the New Zealand Certificate in Binding and Finishing (Level 3) [Ref: 1816]. Award of NZQF National Qualifications Credit gained for a standard may be used only once to meet the requirements of this qualification. Unit standards and achievement standards that are equivalent in outcome are mutually exclusive for the purpose of award. Reviewed standards that continue to recognise the same overall outcome are registered as new versions and retain their identification number (ID). Version 1 Version 1 was republished in April 2013 to indicate that this qualification has been reviewed and replaced. For the purposes of this qualification people who have gained credit for the expiring standards are exempt from the requirement to gain credit for the replacement standards see exemption table below. Credit for 339 20057 3656, 3657, 3658 17930 3654 17933 3660, 3662, 3663 17931 Exempt from Reverse transition Reverse transition has been included for version 2 of this qualification to allow candidates to complete the qualification using expiring standards or replacement standards. Version 2 of this qualification contains a standard that is expiring and that has been replaced by a later standard. For the purposes of this qualification, people who have gained credit for the replacement standard are exempt from the requirement to gain credit for the expiring standard see table below. Credit for Exempt from 26323 3643 All trainees enrolled in programmes leading to this National qualification will be supported to complete it. CMITO will advise all employers currently involved in training programmes of the changes. Certification This certificate will display the logos of NZQA,, and the organisation that has been granted consent to assess against standards that meet the requirements of the qualification (accredited). Classification This qualification is classified according to the classification system listed on the Directory of Assessment Standards (DAS) and the New Zealand Standard Classification of Education (NZSCED) system as specified below.
