Thursday, November 15, 2018 Jazz II & Combo II Concert Dr. Ben Haugland directs two ensembles in this crowd-pleasing jazzy performance. Join us at this free concert featuring compositions by Miles Davis, Bill Evans, Don Raye, Gene De Paul, Pat Johnson, Charles Mingus, Matt Harris, John Fedchock, and Radiohead!

Friday, November 16, 2018 Elan of Youth 2018: Concerto Competition Winners Concert with the University Symphony Orchestra This annual concert spotlights the winners of the Fall 2017 Concerto Competition and features soloists Lauren Pokorzynski (violin), Ross Reinhart (euphonium), Jorge Ramos (piano), and Spencer Reese (clarinet). The University Symphony Orchestra will perform Primordial Overture (Peter Fischer), Violin Concerto in D Major, Op. 35 (Erich W. Korngold), Fantasie di Concerto (Eduardo Boccalari), Premiere Rhapsodie for Clarinet (Claude Debussy), and Piano Concerto No. 3 (Sergei Prokofiev). Hemmle Recital Hall Join students of Dr. David Shea as they perform chamber works composed for the rich colors of small and large clarinet ensembles. Friday, November 30, 2018 Carol Concert 8:00 P.M. Hemmle Recital Hall It's the 60th Annual Carol Concert! Come join the Texas Tech University Choirs following the Carol of Lights ceremony for a festive and fun evening filled with holiday spirit. The University Singers, Women's Chorale, Matador Singers, and University Choir will sing carols, winter songs, and holiday songs with the intent of helping everyone get into the holiday season. Audience members will also be invited to join the choirs in singing some well-known carols. We hope you'll stick around for hot chocolate, wassail, and cookies following the concert! Ticket Prices: General Admission: $10 Seniors: $5 Children (18 & under): $5 TTU Students w/id: FREE Tickets can be purchased at the door one hour before the concert, but we recommend purchasing your tickets early online through Eventbrite. Robert Reynolds! Sunday, December 9, 2018 TubaChristmas Performance 3:00 P.M. Helen DeVitt Jones Sculpture Court, Museum of Texas Tech This year marks the 45 th anniversary of the international musical phenomenon known as TubaChristmas. Here in Lubbock, students and community members of all ages are invited to bring their tubas or euphoniums and join us in a collaborative performance of festive carols. Celebrate the holiday season with the beautiful ringing of low brass! Saturday, December 15, 2018 Midwinter Tales: Music and Dance for the Solstice Season 5:30 P.M. Museum of Texas Tech University Midwinter Tales is a magical, immersive, participatory, costumed event celebrating holiday music, dance, and song from many traditions. Singers, players, dancers, storytellers and more will perform traditional repertoires of the season. Featured artists include the Caprock English Bagpipe Consort, Mariachi Los Matadores, Caprock Morris, the Brothers Grimm, Balfolk Lubbock, and the Elegant Savages Orchestra. There is free admission for children 12 and younger and students with a valid college ID. For others interested in attending, there is a suggested donation of $5.
