The Arrangement The Arranger Robert Sieving (b. 9) is a Minneapolis-based composer arranger and retired high school choral music educator. He received his B.S. and M.S. in Vocal Music Education rom St. Cloud State University. In addition to his pieces or string orchestra Mr. Sieving is active as a composer and arranger o choral orks. Born in Carniola hich at the time as one o the Habsburg lands in the Holy Roman Empire he lived and orked in Moravia and Bohemia (no both the estern and eastern regions o the Czech Republic respectively) during the last decade o his lie. Gallus represented the Counter-Reormation s musical direction in Central Europe uniting the polyphonic style o the High Renaissance ranco-lemish School ith the style o the Venetian School. In the motet Ascendit Deus abundant use o ord-painting is illustrated ith the rising theme in the opening measures ( God is ascended ) and the anare motive introduced in m. 8 ( voice o a trumpet ).
