About the Composer Brad Ciechomski (b 959) is currently the Director o Bands at Harrison Middle School in Yarmouth, Maine here he as the 005 006 teacher o the year and is one o 5 teachers in the USA to receive the 008 American Star o Teaching In Yarmouth, he conducts our concert bands and three azz bands Although experienced at all levels o the band orld, Brad has ocused his career on developing a passion or music in students in their early, ormative years 3 Brad received his bachelor s and master s degrees rom The University o Ne Hampshire here he studied composition ith Andre Boysen r As a composer, Brad has received commissions or bands at every level, elementary, middle, high school and college ensembles His compositions have been shocased at National Conventions, as ell as concerts abroad Brad s many compositions or concert band and azz bands, have been published by numerous national music publishers Brad receives commissions rom schools each year, tailoring the composition process to the school s ensembles Aside rom composing, Brad is active in Ne England as a clinician, adudicator and guest conductor at district and state music estivals and competitions A perormer at heart, Brad stays busy as a reelance drummer ith local, regional and national artists in the greater Ne England Area As a veteran azz drummer, Brad has appeared on stage ith azz great such as Clark Terry, Mel Torme, Bob Mintzer, The Ne York Voices, Wayne Bergeron, Conrad Herig, comedian oan Rivers, LA saxophonist Eric Marienthal, and ohn addis ust to name a e He has even rocked out ith David Crosby o Crosby, Stills and Nash Brad is a ounding member o the ortland azz rchestra ( azz), and records/appears requently ith the rock band The Strangely ossibles Brad is a member o the Vic irth Drum Stick Company ith an endorsement as part o their ercussion Education Team Brad lives in ortland, Maine ith his bass-playing ie hen he s not teaching, gigging, or out on his boat! About the Composition Let it Begin is scored or young band as a ay to begin their ourney into making music in a band setting!
