Student/Parent Information **Please review the rehearsal calendar carefully to make sure this is a realistic commitment. We will work around other activities at the beginning of the rehearsal process but do have mandatory rehearsals when we get closer to the performances. Mandatory seems to have different meaning for different people. In our case, it means you have to be there unless you ve gotten PRIOR permission from the director. Mandatory: Obligatory, compulsory, binding, required, necessary, essential, imperative In other words - this applies to everyone in the cast and crew. You have to be there. This is a very big show so we will need a lot of help and participation from everyone. Set building and costume work will take place on Saturdays. Parents and students are welcome. We will let you know what projects we ll be working on each week. The cast and crew list will be posted on January 17 th, on the LMS Drama Website First Read Through - Tuesday, January 22nd - 2:30-5:00pm Parent meeting - Tuesday, January 22nd - 5:00pm Performances Dates: Thursday, April 25th 2019-7:00pm Friday, April 26th 2019-7:00pm Saturday, April 27th 2019-3:00 & 7:00pm Calendar will be maintained on the LMS Drama webpage http://www.lovelandschools.org/drama.aspx Please check this often. We will also send emails if there are any changes. Please review the schedule carefully. Pay special attention to when the mandatory rehearsals start. April 8 th You will be expected to come to rehearsals prepared. Listen to the recordings and review the music BEFORE your scheduled rehearsal. Start learning your lines as soon as the script is in your hands. We will be able to get a lot more work done at rehearsals if you are all prepared. The first 15 minutes of every rehearsal is your time to go outside, have snack and use the restroom. *Always bring a pencil, snack and water bottle. DO NOT EAT in the auditorium, water only. Enjoy your snack outside or in the hall.

We are including a contract for the students and parents to sign for this production. This is a contract that the high school uses and also many community theater groups. Being in a production is a time commitment. Sometimes we need to choose between multiple activities so we are able to fully commit to one or two. The reason we've added this contract is not to exclude anyone, but to prepare everyone for expectations at the high school and because we've had a hard time getting people to understand that mandatory means you have to be at those rehearsals. It doesn't mean you show up if you don't have anything else to do. The rehearsals two weeks before the show opens are mandatory so it's not the time to schedule vacations or doctor appointments. Also, the contract says there will be consequences for UNEXCUSED absences. If you list your conflicts or communicate with the director prior to missing a rehearsal then it is an excused absence. We do know that people have lives outside of the show so we try very hard to schedule efficiently so the kids aren't there any more than necessary. That being said, we don't have time to reteach songs, blocking and dances so its important for them to attend when scheduled. Now, if you're sick, we want you to stay home. Just communicate with us so we know you're home sick. We are looking forward to a fun production.
NAME: (Print carefully as you would like it to appear in the program) I accept my character/position of: CAST/CREW CONTRACT Attendance: I agree to attend all rehearsals for which I am scheduled. I understand that it is extremely important that every actor be at rehearsal when called. For the good of the show and out of respect for the actors and staff, the director must know my part is covered. Attendance is taken at each rehearsal. Unexcused absences may result in having my role in the production reduced or in the case of extended absence; I may be dismissed from the production. I understand that arriving more than thirty minutes late or leaving more than thirty minutes early from a rehearsal constitutes an absence. I understand that I was asked to list ALL conflicts on my conflict sheet BEFORE my audition. If I am not present at any rehearsal during a time NOT on my conflict sheet, it will be considered an unexcused absence. If I have one unexcused absence I may be removed from my assigned role. If I have two unexcused absences, I may be removed from the show entirely. NO Conflicts accepted after March 1st----- Arrive at rehearsals on time and in appropriate clothing and shoes. I will remain at rehearsals until the rehearsal is completed and I am excused. I understand that listed conflicts will not be held against me. All rehearsals after April 15 th are mandatory for all cast and crew, NO EXCEPTIONS Behavior: I will be respectful and courteous to the Directors, the cast and crew members, and the volunteers. I will maintain a positive and cooperative attitude, and support and encourage my fellow performers. I will listen while others are being rehearsed or coached. I will be prepared for rehearsals with my script and a pencil. I will have my lines memorized on due dates. I will practice outside of rehearsal. I understand that no food or drink is allowed on the dance/rehearsal floor or stage. I will help clean up the rehearsal/performance hall & dressing rooms after rehearsals and performances. I understand that if the Directors think I am not fulfilling my obligations, he/she will have a conference with me that could result in my removal from the show at any time. If this happens, I understand his/her decision is final and no fees will be refunded. Parent Committees and Chairperson Volunteers In order for our theater productions to run smoothly and successfully, we ask parents to volunteer. In most cases parents help is confined to helping the night of the shows. We will also need parents to head committees and be involved in Set Construction, Costumes, Publicity and other production needs that happen before the performance dates. We NEED every family to help out with the production in order for your child to be casted. Below you will find a number of ways to help. Please fill out the volunteer form and have your child return it at auditions. Mrs. McDaniel will contact chairpeople. We will use SignUp Genius for additional volunteer signups.
